Achieved General only to have my rank reset *pic included*

Hello everyone…after playing many long campaigns…10 maps + i have come across a recurring bug that i think should be fixed when a patch comes out for ET.

I will try to say this as clear as possible.

If you reach general all stats full BEFORE the campaign reaches the last map your rank will revert back to Cnl/Obs once a new level is loaded.

For example. If i reach 3 star general on Fuel Dump when Oasis loads my rank and helmet ensignia will revert back to cnl/obs with the eagle logo.

This has happened numerous times and not just to me and i think with the influx of custom maps this error should be fixed.

The screenshot belows shows my stats (all full) and the error. My rank says Cnl. Also the guy above me should have been a general as well but his rank had also been reverted to Obs.

Known bug. If you get Brigadier General or higher, it will reset next map to Colonel. Once you level up in any skill, it goes back to what it should be. However, once you are a 3 star general, you can’t level up in any more skills, so it remains Colonel for the remainder of the game. Don’t hold your breath for an official patch, but expect shrub and bani to fix it.

Edit: The other general related bug is the abbreviations. They got the teams switched. Brigadier General is abbreviated GMj, Generalmajor is abbreviated BGn. Likewise for Leiutenant General and Generalleutnant.

I have seen a bug, (i hope that’s not a cheat)

On the second map, a guy with 312 (or something, no more than 350) had the eagle on the helmet (i was a spectator). Of course, he was the most highly condecorated with 15 mins playing (less than others) 10 kills 35 deaths, and in the next map he still had the eagle, lvl2 fieldop lvl 1 battle sense and level 1 light weapons. WTF?? :???:

to get an eagle on your helmet you have to have a total of 4 sets of 4 stars.

Example Field ops 4 stars, medic 4 stars, battle sense 4 stars, and light weapons 4 stars.

If this guy didn’t have similar stats but had an eagle i would say it was either a glitch…or he was using a hack…or perhaps the server was running a mod.

I know from my own experience i have never been able to get to obs/cnl in 2 maps.

However i do think it can be done. Map 1 - Rhine 2…allied soldier with mortor…possible to fill soldier 4 stars. If your injured while mortoring you can get battle sense quite easy.

Then if the next map is rail gun you can easily get 4 star cov ops and 4 star light weapons…so is it possible to get cnl/obs in 2 maps…i think so…do i think that is what happened in this case…i doubt it.

If you mean 312 XP, then it would be IMPOSSIBLE to be colonel/oberst

You need lvl 4 in 4 skills:

150 (Minimum XP needed to reach lvl 4 in any given skill)

150 * 4 = 600 XP

600 XP MINIMUM to reach colonel/oberst.

HOWEVER, he could have maxed out Soldier (this i can do in 1/2-3/4 of a map if i am mortaring spawn, and a good number of peeps are on.), and could have maxed Cov Ops (Pants raping can get you maxed out pretty fast)

Yes, it can. Ive gotten Colonel in two maps 3-4 times, and one time lead me to get GeneralLeutnant in the 3rd map. Not bragging or anything, just pointing out that it can be done, and to not expect someone is cheating (Not that you did, more for every elses knowledge)

3 map only. I had been there from the begining. he joined on the last 15 minutes of the second map. He was a Field op. And in one time that I had been killed I was seeing him. and i saw the eagle with the 312 xp.

I think it was a bug. but why he still had the eagle on the third map? with less than 500 XP ???

Could have been a bug i guess. A good practice is when you see something out of the normal, to take a demo, or at least a screenshot, not only to check for cheaters, but also for reference.

I wrote 500 because I doubt he had more than 500 when the game finished.

Yup is a good practice. the point is that my pc crashed and those pics got lost in the history =P

Less than 560, if you want to be very specific. It’s 140 for 4 stars, not 150. It goes 20-50-90-140.

and this is why it’s so easy to get level 1 but so hard to get level 4. Why am I so stupid? :banghead: I even read the manual, too!
