about the preorder stuff

In my opinion, all of it should have been in the game already. I mean the game only has 24 guns (Just the last number I heard), what makes them think that it’s a good idea to start making some exclusive? Specops and Psycho are just items that should have been in, while the Doom and Fallout packs would have made awesome cameos/easter eggs. Possible save file detection for fallout, for either New Vegas or Fallout 3 would have been cool. Not sure how the Doom pack would have worked, but it could have just been a late unlockable, or some sort of special code. I mean is someone is so arrogant that they want special items because they were ‘first’, just give them a t shirt that says “Veteran” on it with some cool design. I wouldn’t have as much as a problem with it if the weapons weren’t included. I could deal with missing a few tattoos or a cool mask, but weapons kind of makes me sad. I’ll probably look for codes online though. In my opinion, I think two cool solutions could be found. One, have the(a) limited edition of the game include all of the bonuses along with say, an art book or a steelbook case. Two, have timed DLC where for say, the first month, all of the preorder bonuses are available for say, 5/10$ for a bundle. I’d prefer the first option myself, other than them just being in the game. Bethesda is really going overboard with all these different preorder bonuses for different retailers, I thought it would just be a one time mistake with Fallout New Vegas. /Mindless typing at 2 am

Oh, c’mmon guys, these things aren’t really that essential or anything. I mean, don’t ignore the fact that the game has a myriad of other customization other than these too.

I think those are still just alternative skins for existing attachments.

I like the idea of externally unlockable items, it makes a couple of pieces more rare in a game which makes it fun to spot them even if you don’t get to own them yourself. I hope there will be more like this, like competition prices and such, fare cooler than winning pc-components or posters. However, I’m still not sure if these extras are worth the risk of a delayed game in my mailbox.

Possibly, although like the other packages they would have stated they were skins.

(Joe999) #25

then why do they make them special? i’d like to get ALL of the game. obviously i won’t be able to. so i’m already asking myself whether i should get the collectors edition or not. probably not anymore.

besides this looks crazy awesome. melikes. but there’s no way i’m going to get the game from amazon or direct2drive:

It’s amazing how certain things appeal to different people. The hetian sack from Batman doesn’t do much for me lol.

(Joe999) #27

well, when you have a gazillion of customizations to choose from, this one looks very distinct

(potkettleblack) #29

During Paul Wedgwood’s #quakecon presentation, pre-order packs, were announced. More details next week.

Welcome in the cruel marketing’s world…

(tokamak) #31

It’s really simple then, you don’t consider the special clothes to be worth enough to order it from those retailers.

I’ll refrain from posting yo momma jokes :stuck_out_tongue:

(AnthonyDa) #32

You should be able to unlock those Barbie stuff too.
With the pre-order it’s already unlocked when you first start playing the game, nothing more.
(And don’t forget that you can unlock everything with a nice software since the data are stored offline).

(tokamak) #33

Is that so? It seems to be exclusive to the pre-order editions.

(LyndonL) #34

It has to be stored in every game, otherwise how can other people see your loadout?

(light_sh4v0r) #35

Waiting for an ETQW themed pack sold just in Holland for €2,- with free shipping and 100% guarantee you get everything you need 1 week early.

(AnthonyDa) #36

I don’t think it’s going to happen, thx to Actifail.

(niffk) #37

can any of the devs confirm what the weapons actually are? reskins, early unlocks of weapons, reskinned early unlocks of weapons, or entirely new weapons? if they’re new, are they similar in stats to other, non-preorder weapons?

(0xT1) #38

It’d be nice to get some ingame footage of the preorder bundles.

(Killgar) #39

The steam store Brink page has an in-game screen shot of the pre-order stuff.
