A suggestion for shrub/bani

Especially shrub, with his million and one optional features
A command which summerizes the current mod settings. So you can bind (for example) modconfig to a key and have it tell you which gameplay features have been changed.

Why not just have them published in server info (sets) ? Because that has limited space.

I know you can use /pb_cvarval cvarname but the problems with that are

  1. pb and cvar querying must be enabled.
  2. you have to remember the cvar names, and tab completion wont work.
  3. you would have to type a bunch to see all the settings.

You might wanna post this in shrubs or banis forums

Just a thought :drink:

just to add if it is in severinfo i think you can make filters for them with ASE? might be convenient if the other method (which is needed imho) can also be done this way - pref with a area onsite to DL the relevant filters people have made?

The problem (as I understend it) is that you can put very little information in serverinfo… See this thread http://bani.anime.net/banimod/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1766

I suspect it would be difficult to make another thing (like serverinfo) which you could query without being connected to the game. I agree that being able to see it from server browser and filter by it would be ideal, but that seems unlikely.

I was thinking something along the lines of the settings being used to generate a bitflag variable (or two) for serverinfo, in addition to some sort of more detailed description page (which I presume would need to be output into console, since i think any HUD/menu additions would need client downloads?

I generally just use the sets stuff that puts it in serverinfo.

Just a few lines of the most important settings, like:

sets “.shrub 6-map SW mode”
sets “.shrub slashkill 4”

something like that, but I agree it would be a nice feature.
