A Spawn Camping Solution, Seriously, Take A Look

I know every had been spawn camped by veterans and such and got completely demolished so I have a suggestion.

I have to admit, I hate being spawn camped myself. But I still spawn camp others when I have the change.

So I have a better idea. An area in the spawn should keep you invincible the whole time you are within that area until you leave it. That way people can’t get in and try to juke you out in the spawn area as well.

What do you guys think?

PS: This is one of my post from another thread and I got quite decent agrees, so I might as well suggest it in its own thread.

Lets see…

Underground.
Attackers spawn.

Sniper stays on spawn, covers the elevator door and the other side …Upto left side door.
Stays there, invincible .
Nope… !

Or An area in the spawn It should be really small … or just make that you cant shoot from spawn or shoot players inside spawn…

Then again, players dont camp on spawn spots, they camp on the way to your first objective…

The best way to protect against spawncampers is to shoot them. Exploding them works pretty well too.

Since DB doesnt have medics that can insta revive you from range…

If people are getting camped because they’re hugely outclassed then the problem isn’t really spawn camping.

Would be interesting to see if adding in Phantom would fix some of the problems if he is able to sneak behind enemy lines. Most likely not but still :open_mouth:

I’d much more welcome that idea as a way to discourage those kids that go for a (lone) spawn rush instead of being useful for their own team. Not sure if it’s a think in US servers, but they can be kinda common in EU.

If the entire team is to time-up and spawn at the same time and use abilities, phantom could get behind enemy lines and kill medics…But then again…ITS PUBS…

Yeah I agree that this is just wrong. The defenders shouldn’t be allowed to even touch the attackers until they reach the objective area.

Pubs be Pubs, can’t really do anything about it when the game is balanced for 5v5, I agree with you there.

I agree with this solution, spawn camping really hurt matches because 1 side leave in mass making it impossible to even try to win for those that join in.

I have a similar, but a bit different idea. It is a multi-part idea.

  1. Each map has a designated “safety zone” for each team. This will be the spawn area and a minor area beyond that. There will also be a “base camp” that is slightly larger.

  2. Entering an enemy base camp will switch your UI and map coloration to be fuzzy and black and white while you are inside and for 2 seconds after leaving.

  3. After spawning, for up to 20 seconds, you have a bonus to defense and attack. Leaving the safety zone will disable this bonus. Having enemies in the base camp will increase the bonus based on how many enemies in the base camp. (Both time and amount).

That’s a good idea too.

Just put an invulnerable turret at the spawn point that gibs or teleports enemies and sees through stealth. It worked great in TFC.

I just think the spawns should give massive advantage to the players who spawn there. just make it tactically effective.
