Why is everyone making this complicated?
Just do it how combat arms did it.
When you spawn you are invincible for 2 seconds, if anybody spawn camps you can simply just shoot them and kill them, their loss.

Why not have a line where the defenders cannot get past? Forcing them to really defend the area instead of going behind enemy lines, the moment they pass that line, there is a timer where they MUST go back or be insta killed.
I think this would work well with the start positions on the maps (especially bridge, underpass and trainyard).
But when team advances, don’t have them until way later in the round (it would be stupid if the advanced spawn gets a forever shield when you are still in the area).
But you have to be careful though. I think giving a designated ‘spawn’ area could make it feel okay to push up all the way to that zone.
I think it’s also an issue of balancing teams. Half the matches I join it’s 4v6 or 6v8 because the spawn camping bullshit and people just leave.
This too, yeah. It’s a snowball effect. If one person leaves, it’s inherently imbalanced. That might make someone else leave. Then it takes people like a full minute to join a game. That’s enough to do an objective.
So I think if the teams are severely imbalanced (2+ people missing from a team), the team with more players should have a longer respawn wave. The team that has less people has to kill MORE people AND move up.
Currently, the team with less players can just respawn quicker. But that’s just cannon fodder for the stacked team.

The idea of: “An area in the spawn should keep you invincible the whole time you are within that area until you leave it” has been brought up, and discarded, in the same last 10 spawn “camping threads” and it will be the same here.
u spawn in with a shield. u should be able to out position, and so out gun, anyone of a similar skill to yourself under those conditions.

No, that would be exploited to shit if you think about it, like for example when you finish an objective the spawn point changes every time.
On trainyard for example, you start pretty far away from the c4, then as soon as you blow it up you can end up a bit behind the c4 location and then on the c4 location.
