a medics frustration (n00bs read)

(Brinkman) #1

traveling across the map shouting IM A MEDIC IM A MEDIC only to find out the second you arrive at the victim he enters limbo mode

or if they die right in front of you and you bend down to inject them and they go into l imbo mode then… x2

why not just wait till the last second of respawn to go into limbo mode unless you’re changing classes… dieing and goign into limbo mode is not only stupid for you, it also renders the medic from helping you and preventing you from having to start all the way back at the spawn and keeps the line held…

OMG, i hate that. I hate being medic now, because of the incredible n00bness factor out there. I swear, some people do it just to spite you. I’ve gotten to the point where im coming to do my running revive, im on top of you, im in the middle of bending down…

Gun flies out of body. I’ve actually bound the following phrase…

IM A MEDIC, IM ON MY WAY, DONT HIT SPACEBAR (its in all funky colors so it stand out)

I’ve noticed its helped some…

I’ve also bound…

DONT HIT SPACEBAR WHEN IM BENDING OVER YOU, n00b.

I use that when im pissed off.

yeah, but i know exactly what ur talking bout

equally as frustrating is when u died and u see a medic running towards you, and then right past you, or turns around and runs from where he came. I mean, im hitting v21 v21 over and over again, HOW CAN U NOT SEE THE BIG RED ICONS OVER MY BODY!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I mean, if your a medic, do your job :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a strong feeling that the early limbo bug is back. I’m pretty sure I’ve gone into limbo a number of times, without being shot or tapping.

The same bug was in some versions of wolf as well.

they should give medics jetpacks when someone calls MEDIC!!!

lol

Level 4 Medic == Medic Genie!

He instantly appears when somebody uses V21 with a syringe ready and a pint of beer! Everybody loves the Medic Genie, he can even revive gibs!

It is easier to get gibbed in ET, or at least it seems that way. Most of the time I don’t even hit the ground before I get sent into limbo…

So sometimes it’s not them.

I would like to suggest something though, which is sort of connected to the original post. Why not make it so there is a minimum of 4 seconds to choose between entering limbo or waiting for a medic. It sucks dieing right when there’s 1 sec before the next respawn, especially when you hit it to try and make it in time, just to not make it and also realise a medic was 2 ft away. If there are less then 4 seconds before the next respawn then you should have 4 seconds to choose (so if there is only 1 sec left you still have a minimum of 4 seconds to choose). The most this would only off set people’s spawn times by a maximum of 4 seconds. It would also give people enough time when they die to make sure a medic isn’t close and miss limbo. Anyway, I hope that made sense…

I have a feeling that most of these guys were thrown into respawn unintentionally.

LOL. You are obviously addicted to the game just like most of us.

I changed my controls and for me the spacebar shows the weaponstats. So why shouldnt I view the weapon stats while waiting for a medic?

See, but i wouldnt hit it for you because you would know what to do ;-D

The logic behind it is that n00bs dont know how to bind anything in this game, nor spend the time to change their controls in the system menu. So, in essence, all n00bs hit spacebar to go into the limbo. You would just ignore this message, as i would be sprinting towards you already, needle in hand…no, not THAT needle…:stuck_out_tongue:

Unless, of course, you were a FldOP who didnt give me ammo, in which case i would run right past you screaming I NEED AMMO!

Keep in mind that some players may find it more beneficial to just respawn. Like in that Oasis (I think that’s the one, the desert broken down city?) as Allies we were spawning right next to an ammo and health thing, so if I’m low on ammo when I die, I usually just respawn.

(BlackDeath) #15

Yeah, sure, if u just spawned and were killed 2 feet from your spawn point, but if you’re an allied engie and you die right in front of the last gun, hell, ill wait if i see a medic in the vacinity.

Thats whats beneficial about GIBBING someone after you kill them, specially if they’re a med or engie.

I get so frustrated sometimes. The other night I was on a server called McPs Pipe or something like that. There was some very intense large firefights going on but people were tapping out the second they hit the ground time after time. I bet I could have performed 100 revives over the first 3 missions I played. After that I gave up in frustration and played with the mortar. Soon the other medic went cov ops. Our team ( of 16 people) had no medics left. Sad. It didnt have to be that way… What reason is there to tap out when there is 28 seconds till respawn? At least take 2 seconds and look at the compass or map for a nearby medic icon before you tap (unless you really play this game for the cool limbo options…)

The other thing that really annoys me as a medic is how so many people wont even bother to walk over a med-pack. And then they will run around in circles 15 feet away from 3 packs and spam the voice chat for a medic! I cant even count the times Ive made a death defying sprint to get over to someone with low health and drop some packs and instead of taking the health they just run out into the battle with 20% health. People bitch about the rambo medics but sometimes these situations leave me no other choice if I want to have fun and not frustration.

I usually do a fly by at full sprint dropping packs as I go, this way instead of standing right by the person for 5 or 10 seconds and making us an irresistable target, we become two moving targets. Dont expect me to drop the packs on you unless you are prone or confined to one spot. If I am nearby and leveled up, you can bet the ground around will be littered with health. Its up to you if you want to take a few steps or not.

Medics are a powerful resource to a team, I wish more people would utilize them.
