A little bit of help please, it'll prob help others too

What should I set my hunk and zone megs to, just to get the most from my ET on my system which at the moment is :

AMD 2000+
512MB RAM
GF4 Ti4600 128MB
SB Audigy 1
Win XP pro SP1

I am running at the recommended “high” settings, 1024*768 with everything on.

I have set them from the standard (think it’s the standard anyway) 56 hunk and 24 zone to 128 hunk and 64 zone (as detailed for a server elsewhere). I remember there was a recommended setting for regular wolf that said some one or both of these were to be set to half your PC ram or vid card mem or something like that. BTW I notice no difference with the changes I’ve made. Thanks in advance people.

Well at least I now know I asked a complicated one and not some dumbass question like will ET be ported to my standalone word processor.

You might wanna up your hunkmegs to something like 128mb, but just leave zone megs as they are, default settings usually work perfectly well for that.

Thanks very much djbob you were always my favourite SD guy (in a strictly “butter-side-up” kinda way") not like the others…decidedly average the lot of 'em :smiley: .

And yes the HDD doesn’t thrash as much when the action kicks in therefore totally eliminating the odd bit of jerkovision.
