Hello everybody just thought i would introduce myself.
So i hit the front page of Splash Damage after watching the E3 trailer of Quake Wars, and the first thing i read was:
We are looking for High-Poly 3D Modellers, a Texture Artist and a Level Designer to join us as full-time salaried staff with excellent benefits at our offices in London, England.
I pratically jumped out of my seat in excitment only to find the level designer job was gone, not suprising since the notice was posted in June 2004, almost a year ago now.
Im currently working over at http://www.hull-breach.com/cms/news.php a total conversion for hl2. Now as much as i love the mod and the team, i cant say i am a fan of the source engin. I learnt to map on radient fortunatly a member of infinity ward teaching me mapping theory at the same time. So imagin my suprise when i was presented with hammer shudders
Im also staff at http://www.interlopers.net/ where i mainly pass on my knoledge of mapping as best i can and hopefully get a few more people into mapping each day.
I like introducing myself with images of my work, but unfortunatly my NDA is preventing me from posting any.
So this post serves as an introduction and a chance to lance your lads a few questions.
Now radient is a very bsp based level editor, i mean its terrain creation is okay but its not ideal for creating those massive out door environments like say battle fields editor. So what changes have you made in that respect? Will we be seeing somthing similar to Call of Duty’s terrain creation tool?
Is quake wars going to use a similar method to battle field where buildings where simply models, instead of brush based structures?
Does it still use radient crosses fingers?
And the most important thing for me, dose the game ship with the editor?
Thanks in advance
Peace and love
