I really think that someone has to make a good duel map for ET. I stress the word good because in my opinion RtCW missed a good one (well few good ones, but none of them good enough to show clearly who’s better). However I lack the skill of mapping and I’d like someone else, who already knows about mapping and stuff, to do this for me, and for the whole community. I know that this has been up on many peoples mind, but I’d just like to express my opinion what a duel-map should include.
Here’s a short list:
- No spawn-killing should be possible.
- The map should not encourage on camping (like badplace does imo). Disabling footsteps on some surfaces would may be a good idea.
- A playing-intelligence should be in big role.
- No support @ leaners ^^
- The map should be equal for both players.
- The situation after the players have had an encounter should be equal for both players, so that the winner of the first fight would not rule the whole round.
Then there are some things that I don’t have clear opinion for, like that should the winning player of the first encountering do a /kill to gain full health, or just collect some medpacks. Or that should there be an objective (like holding a flag in koth-test), or just free-fragging. I hope that someone takes this as a project and that people would share their ideas, please :rolleyes:
