News:

  • Dome will be getting some significant changes in the NEXT update!
  • There is a BUG with the burst-fire rifles that effects the fire-rate! This is why some of them feel a little weird when firing, but Shoe and MassE both feel with the bug fixed, they feel “amazing”.
  • A new merc will NOT be in the next update.
  • Public party match-making will “not be in the next couple of updates”, but it is definitely in the works.
  • Beta will not end with a specific merc release, “especially not Thunder”.

Possible changes/updates:

  • They want to “stick to their guns” in regards to Dome’s design, but there was clearly some large aspects of the map that many of the community didn’t particularly like.
  • The FIRST OBJECTIVE is the only point being changed/altered in this upcoming update, however the rest of the map may be tweaked later down the line.
  • Generators on the first objective of Dome can now more easily be damaged with airstrikes/artillery strikes/orbital lasers.
  • Some railings have been removed to improve combat flow.
  • Mounted MG has been moved in order to provide better advantage for attackers.

Liking the changes to Dome, I really really hope this map is a testament to what all other maps will be based on. Large with a lot of room to move around and trick jumps offering new pathways and routes to the objectives.

According to my useless sources and speculation, there is 70% chance the update is coming tomorrow. The source is SteamDB and I have no idea why I think that.

Since I visit SteamDB page for DB very often, I don’t see many situations where the Staging branch is updated without updating the test Branch, unless very close to an update. I may be completely wrong through :slight_smile:

I hope the burst rifles will be usable again. At the moment they feel weird, as if the pause between the bursts gets longer over time or are irregular.

Omg, Thank you Faraleth, I knew it was a big since the start, similar to the “Shadow Nerf” To the flecher (This turned out to be a bug.) I traded up a cobalt kira a day before the update and hated it ever since. (S81 PrimeRifleMan)

Been saying this for ages, glad they’re finally doing something about it. I at least hope it’s the oversampling issues. Means that the mouse and mousewheel will finally fire at a similar rate and people can stop calling it an exploit.

In regards to Dome, I really hope they do something about how atrocious second objective feels. I know they wanted a unique two point choice but god it needs work.

@LifeupOmega Yep, the rest of Dome will get some tweaks over time I think :slight_smile: They are just focusing on the MAJOR issues right away (the first objective was undoubtedly the most complained about issue, not to mention a large percentage of matches on Dome were ending before the first objective could be completed).

Oversampling has been an issue for months. I don’t know why you think it came in this update. They haven’t told us what exactly the bug is but the number one issue that crippled burst fire weaponry was oversampling - hence my assumption that they may have finally fixed it.

Dome changes look good but still nothing on the cash policy. Not gonna spend any money until that system gets completely revamped.

If the gun is too strong when oversampled, they should just decrease the Rate of bursts you can pump out. Srsly that is the dumbest reason for a change in the history of dumb reasons.

So nothing about the servers feeling like rate 3000 and snaps/tickrate 15? Anybody told Splash Damage about it or is it a Nexon-only thing because it’s “the servers”?

@Faraleth does MassE do what you want to do for a career? or is it something a little different? Also 3. seems weird, could you elaborate a bit?

  1. Odd, but ok. They had multiple test weekends.
  2. Are you for real? A bug? Aw jeez.
  3. Wow, ok.
  4. Dome’s design is fine, just the map itself needs a few changes.
  5. First point is weird however you look at it. It sucks to defend, and to attack.
  6. You could do this in the test weekends, what is SD doing?
  7. That’s a good thing. There’s also a useless railing in the Overground map that you can just walk through, someone needs to go and put a wall there.
  8. Oh man, I don’t know if this is good or not, I always hated MGs.

Good roundup again Faraleth, I just hope they actually change a few things in relation to the RNG in this game.

Or…maybe not. Well it seems like they want to release updates when they stream to showcase new stuff…oh well… :smiley:

i used to look forward to these round ups and literally couldn’t wait to read them.

Lately they just made me kinda sad…
