the whole ‘seeing around corner’ thing, can be severely limited, even solved depending on how far back of a third person the view is. If it is close up like GRAW 2, you really don’t gain any view advantage. Further back however, like Tomb Raider, is a different story.
3rd person game like in the trailer (please read)
Even if the music is ‘generic’ (I don’t think it is) if it works, it works. Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke. I think the music in the trailer works well with the cinematic.
that said… case fuc****** closed.
playing brink in third person is like, hmm, let me think, let super mario collect rings and sonic eat mushrooms. curious how that would turn out, tough.
I only played GRAW 1, but that was FPS so I have no idea what you’re talking about horse.
he tries to introduce horses in brink[omg !! wtf ??! & etc], but cause brink has NO vehicles[and animals]its NOT happen.
peace, coffee, cert.org mailist.
then why are there melee weapons…

brbrbr, how come some of your posts make absolutely no sense? Are you just trying to be funny?
And H0RSE, I thought there were melee attacks were just that. Like, when you have a pistol out you will slash with a knife, but when you have a shotgun you’ll bash them with the butt of your gun? Though after watching the CG trailer having two blades with a small body type could be fun.
Has there been any confirmation on whether or not you can dual wield pistols like the guy in the CG trailer?
then why are there melee weapons…
All we know is that there is a knife. I wouldn’t call that an arsenal of melee weapons.
And there is no need to discuss this further.
I personally thought that was false advertisement with the dual wielding. I could be wrong though.
The Molotov was in it the trailer, but someone on the forums said it was taken out (afaik not SD confirmed).

Rahdo said they were out.

My point was that he was saying the game is a First Person Shooter to justify why it shouldn’t have 3rd person - MW2 has third person - Star Wars Battlefront has third person - but they’re both considered FPS’s. So if he wants to use a shoddy example like that, then I was saying, why does it have melee…If its a first person SHOOTER, there shouldn’t be any melee in it - not even if it’s just a knife or a gun-butt - it should just be guns and shooting…
Why are you bashing the shooter part in fps now? The thread is about first vs third person, wether it’s a shooter or an ‘action game’ is not relevant to the topic at hand.
And fyi, GRAW 2 is a first person shooter on the PC.
I perfer third person, not to say I hate 1st person. I am just glad that it has customzation. I am sick of looking like every other charector in game based on cclass. You will have a great game with awsome gameplay and features, but there are only 3 diffrent charector models. Thats always a turn off.
I really can’t stand games in 3rd person. Looking around corners and camera getting stuck on everything is srsly bothering. I really don’t need to see myself, only the enemy and it’s best viewed as close as possible. 3rd person in this case only moves the view behind making it harder to aim.
i kind of wish the game could have been made in third person like in the cinematic trailer so u can actually see what cool stunts u are doing instead of the screen just moving and so u can actually see the outfit u created for your character so basically the character customization is pointless if u are not playing online.i don’t understand why they would make this a first person shooter it just seems dumb.

Yeah, everybody’s a game designer now. Pfff.
I just wanted a 3rd person option to see my character in-game, and see how cool (or not cool) he looks. I could care less about seeing him do stunts - Mirror’s Edge’s core gameplay mechanic was parkour, and that game was in first person.
