I’m not certain whether this fits in here or General Discussion, but I figure they’re related to Mercs so here goes.
I’ve been mulling over some ideas for weapon changes to mercs that would be fun for the 3rd generation of loadout cards. So in addition to posting my own ideas, feel free to post your own ideas! Some important points I wanted to discuss:
Interesting weapon ideas and combos
Interesting augment ideas and combos
The scope of generation changes: Should secondaries and primaries be mixed up or would this hurt balance too much? Keeping in mind that all prior generations can still be acquired.
To aid balance, should prior generations be craftable without requiring specific purchases?
Here’s my “wishlist” of 3rd gen cards.
Fletcher with Kukri (Nigeria had jungles, after all!)
Return of Phantom’s Beckhill and Stilnotto (perhaps on cards with both chopper AND quick slash to make them more viable)
Thunder and Fragger receiving each other’s machine guns (probably replacing their burst rifles each; unique weapons seem to be a thing of the past, so why not?)
I’d also like to see more drastic loadout changes; it’d be cool to see Skyhammer or Aimee with a shotgun, or Bushwhacker with an assault rifle, but these might be horribly imbalanced even if given suboptimal augments/sidearms as a tradeoff. Thoughts?
