39-45 mod for ETQW??

(HellToupee) #21

ET has only theme in common with ww2, other than the look theres nothing historical about it, did you get bored of UT2k4 because of the theme or the game? i actually loved the game myself.

Infact sci fi setting of et qw is a huge plus, theres a billion and one ww2 games now sick of them myself, sci fi is more interesting. If one dosnt play et:qw because its not ww2 well is an idiot.

First i want to thanks everybody who bring your own thinks!
I hope ETQW will also diversified than Wolf ET like map editor, mods, …
All i can seeing of ETQW already promised: the objectives are “really” like build pump, fix an engine ect… not like bf2, oops! not like most of games!
I will buy ETQW just for that because i cant bear games where the objective is “capture the flag” or “deathmatch”. They are too “dumb and nasty”… :banghead: …
What do you think?

Someone should create an Ultra-Realistic mod for a FPP game. With locational damage, bleeding, ironsights, bullet drop over distance, bullets affected by wind, ricochets; 20cm jumping, only 1 weapon (not counting knife/pistol/grenades), no medikits (only bandages to stop bleeding), ability to kill anyone with 1 shot from any weapon (not necessarily headshot). Weapons would jam. overheat; you can reload only entire clips of ammo. Slow movement speed is a must, and no shooting on the move. And after start of match you’d have to spend several hours in wet, muddy trench before firefight.
Once a mod like this is finished (containing ALL and more of features mentioned above) let me know. I’ll be hunting realism nazis and forcing them to play the mod.

B0rsuk you should try True Combat: Elite (Mod for W:ET, not WWII but has nearly all feature you have mentioned).

(Zenix) #27

B0rsuk, you played Red Orchestra?

An ultra-realistic game or mod would be a game that you could play only once. Then when you’ve just joined the game, and you’re killed while still messing with controls, the game would kick you out of the server, ban your cdkey, and hopefully uninstall itself from the computer. That’s death in a realistic game.

Maybe it could employ some training/briefing stage before, so you know what to expect and you can get used to the weapons and controls. On this obligatory training stage, most of the time would have to be spent guarding something or doing chores for your superiors, say like 200hours of that. Then when you join a real game with a real battle going on, your sensitivity, your speed and your weapons will be slightly different due to the psychological effect of being in real combat so you’ll feel completely lost anyways and probably die soon with a shot to the head. War is hell, soldier.

Amen to that.

I think that’s what B0rsuk wants to show to people craving for ultrealism.

(I hope the last word is not an existing word with another meaning, but it just sounded right.)

My point exactly.

Since we’re on the subject though:

A long and insightful read into ‘tactical/realistic’ fps’s. Not exactly my preferred type of fps simulation, but it covers a lot of what’s actually right and what’s not.
