UPDATE: @MissMurder has received word on the update and it looks VERY UNLIKELY we will see the update roll out tomorrow. Early next week is more likely as of right now. If you need to make yourself feel better, please refer to the spoiler below:

] Ming later said (with a grin on his face) “I imagine it will be sooner… rather than later.” The release looks very likely for tomorrow (3rd September).
[] Execution is now on a “bug fixing and polishing” stage. We may see another test weekend soon for “final feedback”.

] Question: What sort of recent changes has Execution gone through since it was last play-tested? – “I’m not sure we can really comment on that right now. […] There have been a number of gameplay changes.” Shoe then stopped Ming from saying any more… :c
[] There are plans to improve the tutorial – however it may be nearer the end of the beta development cycle, so that they can include ALL the features that are added.

This is quite clearly, VERY visible to the enemy. (The image is from enemy perspective)

Possible changes/updates:

  • There have been various changes to the Execution (Sorry, I typed Extraction… ;-:wink: maps since it was last play-tested.
  • “There are some plans for possible changes to the melee system – this could include different or new melee weapons.” Interesting…
  • Plans for changes or improvements to loadout cards has been discussed. There will certainly be future changes to these. No details on this yet.
  • Phantom will be looked at for balancing issues. Right now there are people on BOTH sides, some saying he’s underpowered, others say overpowered. He will be looked at in detail and if buffs are required, he will be given such improvements where needed. (Soon after they discussed possible changes such as making the cloak less visible and quieter)
  • In future, SMG’s may have predictive recoil as opposed to the current “random” spread. However, this is NOT confirmed, not being worked on currently.
  • Question: When will stats (in the end-of-game screen) be coming to the game? – “It will probably be a while. Right now our main focus is the core gameplay, as well as balance.” (We can assume the stats are not being worked on)
  • Phoenix’s healing pulse has been changed from when he was last seen. It now heals instant health, as opposed to regenerating, but it must be charged before release. The longer it’s charged, the more it will heal.
  • Question: Are you able to sprint while you charge the healing pulse on Phoenix? Or is it like charging Sparks’ REVIVR, where your movement speed slows to a walking-pace? – “I don’t actually know the answer to this…” (Likely, it will be like Sparks’ REVIVR. We shall see…)
  • Fletcher will never get his 4th sticky bomb back. They feel 3 sticky bombs with the current cooldown is a good balance.
  • Cobalt “trade down” will NOT be in the NEXT update, however it may be in the near future.

Extra info:

  • Guest: Ming – Gameplay Programmer
  • Ming has mainly been working on the Execution game-mode.
  • Ming said he would like to see a merc with a sledgehammer. (Much like the sledgehammer Fletcher is seen with in the promo material? :stuck_out_tongue: hmmm…)
  • Phoenix has robotic leg, because he used to have a tattoo, which he no longer wanted. In an effort to remove it himself, he set his robot nanites on it – but his plan back-fired when they ate his entire leg below the knee. Turtle (an engineer) constructed him a new leg, much like his own arm.

I am so happy they saw this, I seriously hope they add it in sometime before the end of the year.

Exactly the same here! Stuff like this appleases both competitive and casual side of community since first one wants all RNG out of the game and latter doesn’t either notice it or they do but it still does not add anything that is too hard or even necessary to understand to enjoy playing pubs.

@JesseKomm I have to agree. The state Red-Eye was pushed out in was annoying as hell (with the glitch that meant you sometimes couldn’t activate your IR goggles at the start of a match). I would have preferred to wait until the week after for them to fix it and release it in a functional state. :slight_smile: Glad they will be taking this approach this time.

@MissMurder PLEASE don’t push it out if there is a bug like with Red-Eye. I think we would all prefer to wait and enjoy Phoenix in his full and glitch-free glory! xD

Agreed, and that’s why I love this development team. You all show passion for your work, and understanding about who your audience is. You’re all down-to-Earth instead of robots with fixed responses. Yes it is disappointing now, but were the update released it would have been disappointing in another way. The majority of us will be understanding of your decision so don’t stress too much about it okay, there are still people in the community ready to defuse the tension including @Faraleth and myself as well. Not to mention all the lovely people putting smiles on our faces each day. <3

Its a bit sad that the update isn’t coming but im willing to wait. These credits will surely burn a hole in my pocket though…

It’ll happen when it happens. As long as overall development isn’t too hurt I don’t really see the problem. Rather have a patch that works than one that needs a hotfix next week.
