seconds Bani’s incredibly innovative and excellent suggestion
[2004 thread] I got research credit for playing ET
gibbed players disappear … wounded show medic revive sign… just like if you watch the command map… it’ll do the same thing

I’ll contact you about it later
It’s still fairly rough around the edges from the end-user standpoint, but I’m sure we could soften it up. I think combining this with multiview would just really make it kick ass.
Well, like I said, it’s a little fudgey to get to work right now (lots of settings that need to be tweaked) and currently relies upon a few specially recorded demos (have to be free-flying and have as good a view of all the players as possible), but if I can get those things ironed out I’ll see what I can do about making it available.
Currently, there is actually a “bug”/“feature” of the demo recordings where they do not keep track of whether a player is dead or gibbed – they are both, as far as I can tell, incistinguishably dead. I’m sure I can figure it out if I look at things like animation frames and whatnot, but currently it just shows all dead players (gibbed and otherwise) as those little crosses. That should be fixed int he future, however.
Yep! Vis 2004, Applications paper. Drop me a line (or come to the presentation) and I’ll meet up with you in Texas. I’d be all for taking a ride over to go gawk at some Ferarris
- Lithium is from the element’s symbol, Li, which is short for “Ludic Informatics”. But yeah, I played that mod for Q2 as well
2 (a) That’s actually already settable from the console. I imagine making it a menu slider or something of the like would not be too hard
2 (b) I imagine that’s how the multiview mode would be implemented
2 ©That might be a bit complicated as it would involve dealing with server side stuff and managing lots of visibility tests, but I agree would be very cool (and potentially not too difficult to implement).
Great stuf¼Úäï good work and good luck for your future developments.
One suggestion, I think the player halos should be based on current health and not current score, as that information seems more important to me as a spectator, because you can passively interact by predicting who might win, and you can recognize when a player with 10 health dominates another player that had full health.
Anyway, this looks DAMN sweet and I can’t wait to see it as part of a mod I can play with.
Make a ton of options…
Like Player Circle size dependant on a)current game score or b) campaign status score (Global options) And specific options…Circle size dependant on a)accuracy or b) damage given or c)kills d)health (not dependant on global options) etc etc…
More you put in, more innovatively the players will use it (noobs not counted!).
Great Work though. Really fantastic.
Yeah, that’s actually a good idea. I had meant to do that a while ago, but I guess it just slipped through the cracks. I agree, it’d be a much better way to do it
Awsome!
I also cant wait to see it implemented into public servers/scrims should be a great mod!
wow, looks incredable
nice to see something that isnt just another ETpro/ETpub style mod… could be realy useful for a top clans whanting deep anlysis of matches and gota agree with the Qcon idea that it would be very interesting to watch a match from the side lines from it where all the information is sent quickl and effecintly rather than trying to get an ieda from other players perspectives
i agree that the halo should represent the heath rather than score… then you could see how player rect differntly in fights with low hp compared to high hp
So far this mod is spec based so its made for neutral players as it would show information that setain team should not see… heres an idea how to implemt it into gampley
have the whole team submit info about enemy player rather than just cov ops so a decent amout of data is present… then display it on the comand map so a player in the filed and quickly bring it up and get a quick overview of the situation while only using the information avadiable to that team so holding back things like unseen enemy players and enemy health
great work anyway, finished downloading the vid now
Hi, I saw this thread and I think this will probably the best mod ever made for ET.
Imagine the countless posibilities of writing reviews about clan scrims/wars afterwards. You can include screenshots from this to explain things further.
I can see it being regularly used to analyse league matches as well.
Well enough of that
I see here that people are wondering about different methods of displaying the health/ammo/xp etc for each player. I have on idea which is like red alert where the health is displayed in a horizontal or vertical rectangle. Where if it is fully green then you have full health, half green then you have half helath etc.
I have just editted one of your screenshots to give you a better illustration of what I mean.

As you can see the medic (that I ahve added, along with trailers) has now got 2 vertical bars above it. The one on the left is health and the one on the right is ammo. The icons are not very clear as it was only a quick job. You could just use the same icons as ET does in first person mode.
Hope you like the idea,
Scotty
nice ideas… sadly as i realised after my post that this thread is a about a year old… and so any work to make this into a public mod is probably abandoned or was never started
this is a realy shame as its one of the best orgianly ideas and solutions i have ever seen of any mod… it would defeinly add lots to gameplay/teamplay
we can only hope that thoes responsable come back or some other coder tried to re create this or something similar maby with a more direct aproach to implementig it into the curretn ET game via comand map or other method
LOL :bored: :bored: :banghead: :banghead:
a year old. I’ve never even heard of anything liek this until now and I assume that it was never incorporate into et pro. Oh well
