2 things to really consider in a new potential Wolf:ET patch.

I’m another Wolfenstein player since Wolf3D, and I also played RTCW and currently play Wolf:ET as a (player, on/off server admin, and soundpacker). And I just made my way over here to the official Splashdamage Forums of coarse.
Anyway, I wanted to start with focusing on one thing that actually irks me about the online game that I DO like to play…make that 2 things.
- My issue: Artillary (NOT airstrikes or ANY other weapons).
My proposal: To finally make a server-based option to have Artillary itself on/off independent from the airstrikes…as I have heard before from a successful mod-maker that he noticed the artillery and airstrikes are totally linked together.
My comment: I’m guessing it’s a closed part of the source code in this case. Would Splashdamage be at all willing to make this piece open source for mod-makers or make Artillery a togglable feature like about all the other weapons are also (the main reason it’s a server-base game IMHO)?
I know, you get people who come on the game, or these forums even, and whine and whine and persist on “Rambo medics!!! make them end!” or “soldiers with mortars are cheap!” or “down with flamethrowers!!!”…but the unique thing about this is…
- They must be playing on other servers than their own all or most of the time (I do alot, but I like the servers I play on, and know how to host one.)
- These people are making their “weapon hate” lists build-up easy and take it out on everything, even other players.
- These other weapons ARE good, I don’t get it.
- Artillery is like said about the only weapon without a disable feature.
- Arty really does take no skill, even I admit not needing any of my skills for what I have to use arty, I can’t win if only 1 team uses it can I? It’s just point in area-around-target, click, wait seconds, then boom!, lots of kills if lucky or done right or in a spawn or at an objective ETC, then repeat. If killed, repeat also after respawn.
OK, I hope I’m coming across civilly here, because this is something responders will either hate me or love me for of coarse.
The 2nd and last thing, simply and shortly…
2. A built-in game minimizer, lag-free on the video and works when player is in spectator mode I suppose. I use etmin.exe a 3rd party minimizer but now with my new PC with Windows Vista, my video lags after minimize->restore.
