2 official forums for Brink?

Id like to ask if Brink will have 1 official forum instead of 2 (one here, and second on forums.bethsoft.com).

Its not practical i guess, separating community.

members from either forum can be members of either one - it’s not 2 exclusive clubs…Although, the mindset seems to be like night and day on each. Here, it seems like members want facts, facts, facts, and talk about balance, and comp play and PC support, and the Beth forums seem to have more laidback, general discussions.

I guess it’s like business vs pleasure - and they say you shouldn’t mix the 2…

Always been here and doubt i’ll shift over. The last time we went with a publishers ‘official’ forum, err… it vanished.

ehm… it seems their forum is “official” , direct link from brinkthegame.com… and that sad. users there are discussing aimbotting, what would you…if you, something about halflife, or just random ideas,teamkilling or evenaids!

The Beth forums is a nice change from the “all work, no play” mindset that I find here a lot. You make it sound like they have no clue whats going on, and could care less about relevant info, which isn’t the case at all.

It’s the official Brink’s forum because the publisher are who sets the “rules” for the developers. Because they are the ones investing the money in the game so it can be released with all features planned with in the period of production.

I hope you now understand why Bethesda Softworks has the forum as “the original”.

I really don’t like the Beth forum. The format is just crap. All busy and such, makes it hard to read.

Plus people tend to ramble on about WTF I don’t know.

i quite like it, i’m online a lot so i enjoy seeing a lot of posts, it’s do-able if your checking it every half an hour ^^

(and just ignore the threads you don’t like, probably most, like me, but still)

The Splash Damage forums were built by PC users, modders and mappers, Bethesda forums by console players

a poor analogy
SD = hot rodders
Bethesda = soccer moms

both use cars, but the hot rodders know what’s inside and why

Well I think I’m moving to this forum. Bethsoft forums every thread is “I have this idea to make the operative a god please vote yes to this in my poll so it can be in the game.” I’m glad I’m not the only one who notices.

Both the forum here and over at Bethesda are only subforums. It’s unlikely they’ll disappear unless Splash Damage or Bethesda disappear. The ETQW forums were completely separate and we’ve seen where that lead.

I don’t really like the layout of the Bethesda forums. It’s kinda irritating to have the users rank where the nickname should be. Not having any avatars doesn’t help either.
