WE R TRYING 2 UPDATE OUR PB 4 ET BUT WE CAN NOT GET ON THERE SITE 4 SOME STRANGE REASON??WE HAVE ASKED OUR FRIENDS 2 TRY AND THEY GET ON STRAIGHT AWAY BUT WE CAN`T??WE HAVE PHONED OUR ISP AND THEY CAN GET ON BUT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO 2 HELP US??THEY TOLD US 2 TRY SO MANY THINGS THAT NOW WE R P***ED RIGHT OFF AND THINKING OF NOT PLAYING ET AT ALL :frowning: WE NEED ANY HELP BIG TIME??WE HAVE NORTON FIREWALLS AND A U.S ROBOTICS ROUTER BUT STILL ZIP WHEN WE KILL THE FIREWALLS??WE COULD GET ON THE OTHER DAY BUT 3 DAYS LATER WE GET ZIP?? WE HAVE RUN OUT OF IDEARS CAN ANY 1 HELP US PLEASE :angry:

Well, first turn off caps lock, second what EXACTLY happens when you try to access www.evenbalance.com? “Can’t access for some strange reason” is very vague to say the least.

ok m8, caps lock is off, all we get is PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED??
we have done lan setting but once we get on we cant update??
we were told to take lan off then we still cant get to the site??
thanks for the help m8 , any more idears???

Hmm, sorry I’m just as clueless… have you tried with Opera or Mozilla? But since you can access other sites that doesn’t really make sense.

Put this in your /pb folder and run it. I don’t know if this’ll work since it obviously needs to contact the site too, to download the updates, but try it anyway?

you seem to have some basic network problems, unrelated to PB or ET. This may not be the best place to get help solving them. Posting multiple threads on the same topic won’t exactly make people want to help you either.

I suggest using ping and tracert to diagnose you connection problems. If you don’t know how to use those already, you should be able to find out on the internet.

If you have two people sharing a connection, that may be related to the problem. Perhaps your router or connection sharing is not configured correctly.

Can you connect to say, ingame servers in the first place and update it from it there?

Use:
pb_sv_enable 1
pb_sv_update 1

…in the console and wait for a few minutes and some spammy text in the console. Were you able to access the site before? What about messing with your DNS address’s? Get another ISPs, add it in, restart your network connection and try again. (Keep old DNS tho written down or smt).

This goes out to all those that posted and looked at this prob for me, thanks for all your help, we are now back on PB`S site,we restared the router and modem about 3 or 4 times now it all works, THANKS ONE AND ALL.
