2 Cobalts first 2 cases!

(CheeseOnToast) #1

So yesterday I got 2 cobalt cards in my first two cases. I got a [BL41 Relief Operative - Aura] and a [S51 Vintage Rifleman - Stoker]. I am very new to the game - level 3 - and I had a few questions about this:

  • What is the significance of cobalt cards?
  • What do they change in game?
  • I understand the chances of this happening are low, but can someone put this into perspective for me please, Thanks
  • Do the cards have any resale value?
  • What are the differences between different colour cards?
  • What is the difference between different cobalt cards?
  • Is there anything special or good about the specific cards I got?

The links to the screenshots are here:

Thanks for any replies on this <3 I’m definitely going to put a lot more time into this game

Why is it always the new players getting the good stuff…
I assume you got them from the daily expert cases event (I might be wrong but assuming I’m not), the chances of this happening are 3%3%=0.030.03=0.0009=0.09%. Way too lucky to be real :3

-Cobalt cards are the highest rarity (except Obsidian but you can only get it from special events so it doesn’t count).

-Cards of bronze or better tier all have 3 augments, obsidian and bronze are the same, only thing that changes is cosmetic (skin of weapons and your merc’s clothes), a cobalt is like a bronze but it looks 1000 times sexier

-Loadout cards change your merc’s weapons and give you up to 3 augments (special perks)
Currently there is no trading, but there will probably be in the future (probably on the official release when the game is out of beta), then you will be able to sell them and make some money

-The difference between colors is the rarity and skin, rarities go like this: Obsidian > Cobalt > Gold > Silver > Bronze > Iron > Lead (I don’t count special edition cards). But as I said before, anything above bronze is just cosmetic changes.
-Each merc has 9 different loadout card possibilities, each card has different weapon sets and augments, there are augments that are better and augments that are worse (for example: Bigger Blast is better than Quick Eye for Nader). Each merc can use 3 different primary weapons, pistols and melee weapons and there’s 3 loadout cards for each.

-The good things are mostly augments and the primary weapons, the primary weapon is mostly personal preferences (for Aura, if you prefer an SMG over shotgun it’s good, if you prefer shotguns, well it’s kinda disappointing for you but it’s still a good card),
*Your Stoker has the Stark Ar which some people might like but some people might hate, Bomb Squad is a good augment for all mercs and Focus is good on the Stark Ar because you will scope with it a lot, Quick Draw is kinda useless though but still a nice perk, you can’t always get 3 perfect perks, and also the deagle is the best pistol Stoker can use
*Your Aura has the Blishlok (SMG instead of shotgun), it depends on what you prefer, M9 is the best pistol for Aura, Get Up is a really good perk (some people might even say a must perk) for all medics, Extra Supplies is really good too but it depends on how often you move your health stations and how often they get destroyed and double time is an amazing perk because you can sprint and reload at the same time, but it disables your ability to reload cancel and Aura is usually a merc that camps a lot so idk how it’s for her. But to be honest, that’s THE BEST Aura card in the game, it will definitely be worth a lot when trading comes out

Short version:
-Cobalt is the highest rarity
-Anything above bronze is only cosmetic changes
-Loadout cards change your weapons and give you up to 3 augments
-Your Stoker card is good but it depends on how much you like the Stark Ar, if you can’t stand burst fire then it’s probably bad for you
-Your Aura card is the best Aura card in the game

Ok so first off welcome to the game and I hope you are having fun (you’d better be if you’re 2 for 2 on cobalts). So cobalt cards are the second (or third depending on how you view it) highest rarity in the game only below obsidian which are rarely handed out and then only on special occasions and (if you’re like me you’ll think this is the case) special edition cards which can only be attained during events and atm once the event has finished only people who have that skin can use it. Do they change the game? No. They are just better bling, every load out with all the augments are available a bronze which can be bought in the store but you can get the higher rarity cards as more of a status symbol because they are rarer and prettier.
The chances of this happening is 0.1%*0.1% so you are one lucky guy, however if one of those cases was a combined expert case due to the current event the. The chances are significantly higher but still it’s very very rare.
Once trading comes out these cards might have a resale value because they are quite good cards however I think trading is some way off.
As I said earlier there is no real difference in the different rarities except for better bling.
As for info. on the cards themselves check out Djesse’s genome project and see for yourself (this taught me a lot about the cards I wanted to fit my play style) as views on cards are mainly subjective.
Hope this helps and I hope you keep playing the game, have fun :stuck_out_tongue:

@CheeseOnToast Bit of misinfo here. Focus applies to both ADS and Hipfire so it doesn’t matter at all if you scope or not with the Stark, you’ll still get the Focus benefit. Quick Draw is fantastic regardless of merc if you need to switch a lot, which with Stoker and his molotovs, will be a fair bit. S51 is a solid card overall.

Also, in regards to the Aura card, Get Up isn’t vital for medics aside from Sparks, and a lot of people will use the BL72 for Drilled + Potent or the BL83 for Unshake since Get Up got nerfed. All the Blishlok cards are viable, but the 41 definitely is not the de facto best card.
