2.60- 'wav_record'

(jdc) #1

This wav_record command was new to me, but found it in the 2.60 readme file, and have found that if you try to record when playing a demo, it creates a 1k ‘broken file’ winamp says. Searched the forum for this command and nothings posted I can find, but what else does one need to know about this command? I’ve bound an F9/F10 start/stop for this and it works, but not in demo. Er’, is it for demo recording? I jumped on it to help w/the lack of sound record in demo’s etc, etc.

thanks,

Nobody? I can dig it. the ‘cl_wavefilerecord 1’ says it will record starting at the start of a demo and more, but to have a demo of a whole match, goto the time, and want to record for a minute, or two, or more, then stop, etc, is where it won’t with ‘wav_record’ and ‘wav_stoprecord’. A 1k file is made, and no sound file. This recording does work in a live game, though, and works great. Maybe that’s the way to do it, I’m down to recording a whole match if for anything is worth making a demo of, and that way, you grab the sound first. Otherwise in the subject, I’ll use total recorder to grab the sound, but in game demo wav recording would eleviate switching apps during the demo play.

Anyway, wether ‘wav_record’ and ‘wav_stoprecord’ is supposed to work in demo mode is the orig question.

Thanks,

Why don’t you just record the sound using cl_wavefilerecord then crop it?

Hmm, wav_record works fine for me, in both live recording and demo recording.
I used a pure etmain 2.60 demo while recording, so maybe it doesn’t record right for etpro demo’s?

Thanks for the replies and link. There’s an idea- demo’s i’ve been working with are jmod. www.clanfu.org’s pub server. Didn’t think of this, maybe it’s because of the mod. Crop- thnk that’s what I’ll do.

Ok, it does work with jmod, I wasn’t loading the mod before demo play. Thanks for the help/replies.
