News:
- The next update is “Almost ready, but not just yet.” – Sadly, it looks like the update will likely be early next week, as opposed to tomorrow. There are still some key things to be worked on.
- They have “talked about” the idea of a merc with a flying drone. Note: This most definitely is NOT confirmed in any way, simply discussion and concept ideas. It does shine a light though on possible future, unannounced mercs.
- There’s the possibility in the future to see cross-over classes (ie. Engineer-medic, for example).
- Confirmed: The next map AFTER Dome will be “Dockyard”, due to Exedore’s quote – “Perhaps with the next map, after Dome, which annoyingly somehow, some people have seen.”
- Aim-punch is very unlikely to be changed again in the future, although as usual, everything is subject to change. It all depends on play feedback and performance.
- Manual selection for augments and custom loadout cards will NEVER be in the game. It would completely break the current loadout card system. – The closest we may see to this would be a point-based/hierarchy system for selecting augments.
- Colourblind mode is NOT on the current road-map, however Naxxus has been working on a walkthrough guide on how to change various colour values through the .ini files. This should be published tomorrow.
- Forward spawns have NOT been added to Dome. It was discussed, but not implemented. They felt the way Dome played was satisfactory and wanted to move onto the next map…
- They will be revising the “Secondary Objective” mission and “Competitive” mission, and improving upon them. They are aware of the community’s thoughts on the missions.
Possible changes/updates:
- They are currently investigating and working on improving the stuttering and frame-rate on various maps, during gameplay.
- Exedore said “When we get some of the other spawning mechanics into the game – no hint there.” – Looks like we could possibly see some new spawn mechanics in the future. No details.
- Question: Will we see the RNG factor reduced for purchasable goods in the future? – There are other things being thought about, but there is nothing being worked on currently or planned to be implemented.
- Exedore said “Oh, is he getting buffed?” and laughed upon discussing Phantom, and Shoe responded “I don’t know, maybe.” – This could be possible hinting?
- Question: Will you ever consider removing Phantom’s shield and making him less visible and quieter? – “I don’t think removing his shield would really solve that issue, but it’s a valid assumption.” – This was said by the lead designer. (Seems they aren’t too keen on removing his shield. RIP Phantom, useless forever.)
- During development, it was discussed about giving Phantom functions such as EMP grenades or the ability to hack turrets, etc. These options are still open and being discussed.
- Question: Why does Vassili have such good long AND short range weapons? – “We’re trying to balance as best we can, don’t forget we do have other snipey-snipes coming soon.”
- The Quick Charge augment on Sparks reduces the amount of time you can hold the charge for – this is confirmed a bug. It will be fixed in the future.
- It is highly unlikely we will ever be able to shoot through walls or objects. – The maps were not built with the mechanic in mind.
- It is unlikely we will ever see individual merc rotations – however there are other ways they are thinking about, to combat the rotation merc-stacking.

I really wish they’d spend one or two iterations on smaller QoL changes and bugfixes. The day that I don’t have to write killallsounds will be a glorious day. They should react quicker with thing like secondary/competitive missions.
