2-1-7 -> Silver Agent , was expecting worse haha but I suppose I was matched up with a few golds (better than last season 3-1-6 into bronze master :P). I just don’t understand why I keep getting players who think they know it all 2 minutes into the match and just intentionally stop trying, to prove themselves right.

I have heard of the level 7 issue ( should be higher… ) but I am seeing players (who I really want to call out.), who I’ve known to be decent players from normals and last season ranked games, show their “true colors” and just throw the game because they “know its over” only a few minutes in before we have a chance to carry them (or get past the hard part repairing etc)
At least some of the level 7s are actually trying. I can handle trying to carrying some of these guys who can’t help it but if they are guys who clearly have some experience and intentionally throw…Like cmon. Bonus points when they are at the bottom.

I never thought I’d see the day where I could say I’m getting unmotivated to play ranked from this stuff but too bad I’m just addicted to ranked lololol… My god the mentality of some players, I guess I’m starting to feel a bit too old for this kind of stuff heh heh.

Note: I had this game where I was continuously teamkilled so we would definitely lose after I asked him to go proxy. I had told him we had a chance if he could help repair (this was like 2 minutes into bridge) but he just says ‘fuck you’ and ‘they have higher score no way we win’ ( well yea you’re afking and killing our team as they run out of spawn).

Worst part was, the punish exp option wasn’t appearing (bug?!?)…lord help me.

You’re one of the most ferocious players I have fought. When I read this I knew I would be placed in silver at best, and so it was. How is the grind? When do you think you’ll reach cobalt again?

Haha, thanks. There are some really scary players out there.

My experience was pretty enjoyable so far since I’m counting only one loss since yesterday to today.
I’m definitely ranking up a lot quicker compared to season two so I’m quite happy about that.

Silver Agent, lower than Season 2’s ranked when I got what seemed the highest possible for the placement matches, Silver Master I think. They said they changed the way you get ranked, but it doesn’t feel like it or maybe it was for the worst. The wins/losses shouldn’t be accounted for so much in my opinion. I guess that’s what happens when you solo queue. I won 5, lost 5. Every time I lost, I had an absolutely shit team and every game my team was handicapped by at least 1 player. I had a few games where 3 players handicapped our team by being THAT bad. Each match felt like a pub match to be honest.

My only hope is that ranking up will be possible. Last season it wasn’t for a couple reasons. Lack of players, terrible teams, and of course the leavers/team killers. :’(

Yeah, I can feel you, I got ranked as silver specialist and today I got my demotion to Bronze officer(?) Because of since Wednesday was the only day where I really won matches (6 wins 4 losses) since then I play like 10 ranked matches everyday and only with luck my team wins one of them! The skill range is always at the maximum since there was no day where somebody didn’t accept the match, I played 3 vs 5 once and nobody at all knows where his/her Place is! I am a Level 7 noob, admitted but I never made so high scores before ranked so I think the rank system is unfair, I get a little bit of Rank progress when I score 6000 at a match I’ve won but get demoted when I lose a match where I scored 8000! I am doing my contributions and Playing the dedicated roles of my characters but my team and I ALWAYS lose, I would stop playing ranking but I want to get at least 1 Season 3 case… I hope I draw a merc that I use with a weapon that I like…

This will shrink the ranked playerbase even more, which is already the biggest problem of DB’S matchmaking . . .

Ended up Gold Agent in S2, 6W4L, silver spe, I managed to ranked up to Silver officer, lost 3 match, back to silver spe.

The balance is just complete garbage atm, between matching up with lvl 7 newbies, the nerds’s (ex cobalt/elite spe from S2) smurfs, and the bullshit algorhitm (yay, 4 silvers 1 unranked against 3 gold, 1 cobalt, 1 silver), S3 is just unenjoyable compared to S2. Only the “skins bribe” keeps me going in.

its not the match fault when the player-base is so small.

Clicking on a random server on the server browser produces better balanced matches than what ranked mode offers. It is not the size of the player base - it is the ranked mode itself.

heres how ranked matchmaking works:

you pour players into a pipe like water. Then the pipes has branches and some of them are pointing upwards. to fill water container in higher places you need more water input. what happens when the water input is low? no water on the container in higher places. And then theres low places water container that doesnt need more water pressure resulting filling on the low places water container.

if you still dont get it heres a more simpler explaination:

if there are not enough player playing in the matchmaking system with the same skill/rank, the system will mix everything so people can still play.
