Im a joystick guy, I’d prefer getting this on the xbox. I find playing FPSs on PC a little difficult, maybe its my inexperience. FPSs for PS3 are just horrible, the controller needs to be more ergonomic…
I will be buying/playing this on 360, at least initially, because my home PC is horribly old and outdated. It is definitely a positive for me having a solid and list of friends on my 360 to draw on from other FPS games though, considering most will be getting this after my long running push for this game. The big screen at home and the relaxing feel of sitting in the living room for gaming is good as well. Controller vs KB/M is the most glaring drawback but it does offer a more even playing field, in most cases.
When I finally do pick up a new PC, which I will likely break down and do when Blizzard finally puts Daiblo 3 on the shelves, at that point I will pick up PC versions of my favorites (TF2, L4D2, Brink?, and others). I can stretch this old rig until then for simple home use, just not for gaming. I have just limited myself to console gaming over the past couple years after being a PC heavy gamer previously, going as far back as my Amiga1000 days.
360, would love to own a death star computer that doesnt deficate and fake death every time i try to play a game bigger than wow but computers always go wrong when i try to play stuff on them and all my mates have 360s and im a mix between casual and hardcore… hardcasual? casuor?
Just out of curiosity, how does your computer “go wrong” if you try to play games on it?
I’m PS3, i would get it for PC but money is tight and my PC gaming days are over until somebody creates a program that you can upgrade parts for no fee.
Biased topic, almost everyone on these forum are PC players
^this is true but a similar one on another forum was a pretty good mix, so we’ll see how it plays out. http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1107507-best-platform-to-play-on/
@horse: I wouldn’t say its the sofa that makes it a “valid” reason. The way I see it consoles are much easier to get a more personalized multi-player experience (i.e. I actually know the people I’m playing with) while PCs are better for less personal multi-player such as clan wars and the like. Theres nothing wrong with that its just not how I prefer to play. That said if I want to invite a bunch of friends over for a friendly tournament filled with smack talk and Cheetos I’d definitely do it on consoles (a sofa is pretty much mandatory for this). Sure its doable on PCs but its just not the same. Technology is moving in the right direction towards the barrier that exists online through VOIP and the like but its still not near where it needs to be.
@ehrw: How do you lose the social aspect of the game on a couch? I’d say its the opposite actually. Like I said it’s much easier to get a friend involved if you have a couch. But as far as online goes I guess thats a matter of preference. By console VOIP I assume you mean 360 VOIP and by 360 VOIP I assume you mean the garbage headsets that come with the 360. Yeah those aren’t too good but with a proper headset it works just fine.
wow like five posts popped up while I posted now it looks like I totally pointed at something weird, I was refering to this:
