Your personal pros and cons for the update?

(TeuFort) #41

Pro: The clipping updates all across the board honestly make games flow much more smoothly

Con: The EV move on Bridge feels oddly more exposed than the prior placement

(Sanatas_Eva) #42

Colors look washed out (similiar to limited color range RGB 16-235) on min/low settings, enabling post processing from video settings fixes the issue.

There’s still a bug that fps halves after about 2m30sec, summer squash patch 2 didn’t have this one but it returned to patch 3, patch 2 gave me 60-120fps more than patch 3.

I’m getting 80-100 fps with i7-2600k & gtx1070 on minimal settings, which is sad. It’s not my hardware because i’m getting good performance in every other game and benchmarks.

pros:
-fixed fences
-you dont get stuck on… EVERYTHING
-looks cooler

cons:
-changed spawn camp jumps
-lowered sky box (cheap way to protect air from me)

I still stuck on EV :’(

Framerate is much more stable on my potato, I can even increase a setting or two without losing performance. Overall gameplay feels smoother, those pesky rail tracks can’t stop me anymore.

I did have some stutter, but turning on vsync fixed it for me.

(D1visor) #47

Pros: Maps look different, not that I’m 100% happy with all of them

Cons: Mouse doesn’t feel as responsive as before which makes really hard to hit strafing players (I tried quake live today after a while and that feels excellent)

Crotzni sound, but maybe I just have to get used to it…

Aliasing, tons of it

(Mc1412013) #48

Cons- all my hiding spots are gone,

Prof-all the colors of the F#$%@# rainbow

(Grave_Knight) #49

Chapel and Underground are still not fixed. Also Underground somehow feels worse.

As for pros, uh, I guess Trainyard is nicer. Can’t hide in the blocker car as well as before which makes it harder for defense.

Under ground the elevator insides look unfinished to me and like it took a step back in develoment i dont know why they changed inside of elevator

(LifeupOmega) #51

Pros: I get better performance on all maps.

Cons: And then blackcipher.aes takes a gigantic shit all over that and now I get frame dips down to 10 fps every minute instead.

Oh yeah, and ranked is gone. Again. Call me when it’s back.

(Eox) #52

Okay, I can post for real now.

Pros :

 • Everything is pretty !
 • Some good ideas when it comes about map balancing : 3rd objective on trainyard feels so much better !

Cons :

 • I feel like the maps are taking longer to load.
 • I get some freezes at the start of each game, like if the game was still trying to load models. It’s still playable but kinda annoying, especially when it comes during a firefight. Fix pls ?

(ImSploosh) #53

Pros: The maps look a little prettier I guess. Some bug fixes were also nice.

Cons: Very unstable FPS and lots of FPS drops to unplayable levels.
Mouse is unresponsive and aim is just off. Not sure what’s going on with that, but others have mentioned it as well.
Kira’s laser is still wonky.
Unnecessary “blur” effect added to the scoreboard so I can’t see the game when I access the scoreboard.

There’s a few more I can’t think of right now. Haven’t been able to play much, especially with the problems.

(doxjq) #54

It’s the input lag eh. Lots of us are getting it even though we are getting higher FPS. I think it’s because I’m using more CPU when playing now.

I don’t even know if that makes sense but the more CPU I’m using the worse my input lag feels, so I guess it does make a little sense. Every time BlackCipher spikes up the CPU usage to max my frames drop, and my input lag increases.

BlackCipher is causing a lot of problems for people right now. I didn’t know what was causing my 1-2 FPS moments until last night when a friend told me about it, so I turned the second screen on and had a look. Sure enough every time my frames drop randomly, BlackCipher is chewing up the CPU.

It’s the same for me, every time my cpu usage goes up to 100% i get a lot of stuttering. This happens about every 30 seconds which is very strange because i had no issues pre-patch and have quite a powerful cpu. However my BlackCipher.exe never uses above 5% of my processor time so that doesn’t seem to cause the problem for me.

Another thing that i have noticed is that my game seems to ignore a few settings completely. Like for example if i turn blood off in the settings i still have blood in game…

Yeah, it’s the strangest, and strongest lag I’ve ever encountered. I can play a game with connection lag, graphical lag, etc., but not with this. What’s going on right now has ultimately made the game unplayable for me. It’s causing multiple problems as I play, so that sucks.

I haven’t really looked into it much because I just don’t have the time. I just know that I had to lower my graphics settings a bit after the summer squashes lowered my FPS and caused more stutters/drops. I can try playing on the lowest settings, but for me, I like having a bit of color and feel to games.

Anyways, I just have two questions, what is BlackCipher? I’ve heard the term used for coding or whatever before, and I think I’ve seen it as a security program or something on Nexon games? Just not sure.

Also, does anyone know what FPS counter displays the correct FPS: Steam or Gamebooster/Razor Cortex? I’m not even sure what my FPS is anymore as they both display different numbers. I know when I first started playing DB over a year ago, my FPS was around 80-100 on high settings according to Gamebooster. Steam shows well over 100, but they both dip down to 1-20 randomly after the latest DB updates. :frowning:

(doxjq) #57

I believe BlackCipher is the anti-cheat software used for DB.

(RickyNeuman) #58

Pros:

 1. the new look of the maps is nice
 2. they got rid of some game breaking bugs

Cons:
[] some new bugs appeared
[
] the gameplay changes in all maps are shit. Bridge first Objective was fine. You just had to work together. Trainyard is completely attacker sided now. First Objective was fine, last Objective would be fine by just changing the delivery side for the last Objective. Everything else is too much. Terminal and Chapel got a lot worse because they removed the trick jumps. The Bus on chapel looks like crap. They made the game easier for noobs and optimized for the shitty 8v8 servers. For me that took away much of the fun. Less skilled players got an advantage with this update. The game feels kind of flat and boring now.

random fps drops caused by NGS
conclusion: They fixed some stuff that had to be fixed, they ruined too much stuff that would have been better untouched. My interest in DB is still shrinking.

(CadGamings) #59

Pros:

 • Game look really nice
 • Balance is better (far from perfect though)
 • Game runs a nicely at 180 fps high settings, most of the time

Cons:

 • Sometime I get massive frame drops to 1-5 fps for like second. This is really anoying, even though it only happens once a game or so.
 • Sound sometime still disappears for like 2-3 seconds
 • IMO auto idle kick should kick-in after 2 minutes rather than 3 minutes (I think it’s 3 min…)

(Xyfurion) #60

Pro: Everything looks so much better!
Pro: Performance is way smoother.
Pro: Stoker’s fire is BLUEEEE. IT’S BLUE I TELL YA

Con: Stoker’s fire is still bugged
Con: Sometimes I’ll get a freeze for like 1-2 seconds.
Con: Still not good at this game
