Your personal pros and cons for the update?

(doxjq) #1

Pro: I now get a solid 180fps for 99% of the times on all maps.

Con: Once every 2-3 minutes I drop to 2-3 FPS out of no where for 1-2 seconds and then back up to 180.

Con: My mouse feels like it has input lag now, despite the huge increase in frame rate (before the update I was getting as low as 80-90 on some maps)

Con: The lighting for me looks nothing like it did in the videos. Everything is greyscaled for me, and colours are way less vibrant. Areas that are dark are now way too dark and areas that are light seem to be way too light. What gives?

Example:

Where’s all the colour gone? Even if I bump my settings up to super everything just appears greyish to me. I’m finding it way harder to see geometry now with the lack of colour and super dark patches.

Pro: Game seems a bit smoother for me, the actual art changes in the maps are great.

Cons: Trainyard final obj is heavily biased to offense now, and like @Dox said, the lighting is definitely not up to snuff on my screen. Everything seems greyer now, particularly in Chapel.

(DarkMatterMatt) #3

Lighting is great on my screen, loving the colour

I’m running 60fps 1080p on ultra
i5-6600K, GTX 970

E: I have to disagree with @derpypenguinz19, the trainyard final obj seems quite good to me. I won defense on it without any noticeable difficulties.

Con: played a Skyhammer mission and found that my air strikes were being called in when the marker detonated indoors (on the shelves in the mg room, first obj trainyard)

(BlackboltLW) #4

Pros: It’s quite stable for my potato laptop, sometime stutters but it’s stable basically, without custom configs.

And basically everything, love it

Cons: THEY REMOVED THE EXTRA AMMO BUG FROM AMMO STATION AND CACHES

sobs

(Boory Marks) #5

Pro: I seem to have much better and consistent performance, which is nice.

Pro: The colors of the maps on my computer look completely improved, which is good

Con: It seems to crash every once in a while.

Con: I’m not sure but I think they may have patched the ammo through the wall bug in the first obj of Bridge, or at least for me, it doesn’t happen anymore. I thought it would still work as they added the creepy need ammo stuff on the wall, but it doesn’t at least for me(so far).

They patched that ages ago, during Summer Squash.

The maps look sexier than ever 10/10

However I can no longer shoot through the bus on Chapel. Literally unplayable.

Just playing a short match at the start of underground and I already like the pace more than how it used to be. The secondary objectives being easier to destroy opens up the first room way more than before. And less cover in the room means that fights are much scrappier than they used to be.

Bravo Splash damage.

I wonder if I am the only person who has never had fps issues in this game until this update.
Personally i would run medium to high settings and get over 200fps constantly. Now, after turning everything off, i play with around 100fps with very (VERY) frequent fps drops to 30-40-50 which cause my game to freeze completely for a few seconds. I couldn’t even reach the 180 fps cap.

I would like to give feedback regarding the maps balance but I haven’t got to play them enough because of how badly my game is currently running. I’ve never used a config and since the update i’ve spent all the time trying to figure out a useful one

All I can say is that the colors are great, it’s easier to see, i love the new gun sounds, but I’m disappointed to see no merc balance changes. (cough thunder cough)

(TheStrangerous) #9

Pros: No color filter, some nice map tweaks, really smooth framerate.

Cons: Occaional FPS drops hiccups during intense fights, still have to use “fogdensity 0” to get rid of distant fog.

(Eox) #10

Pros : it looks great !

Cons : I can’t play it, still downloading.

(n-x) #11

Pros: Molotov fix and some changes to the maps

Cons: I get extreme lags even in small rooms. My mouse response feels different. Something is off.

(WaffleMonster) #12

Pros: Much cleaner textures and overall look, stoker seems to be fixed. Hit detection and responsiveness seems to be amazing, maybe just from the server restart.

Cons: First Stage of bridge is really messy now, first stage of chapel is incredibly attacker biased.

(WaffleMonster) #13

Also forgot to mention, SD tried to fix the camping issue with the wrong elevator on underground.

(royalFlag) #14

Pros:

  • looks pretty much what modern games should look like

Cons:

  • horrible fps drops
  • can’t hit shit after this patch
  • team balance system is not fixed
  • no new content
  • tons of aimbotters and we can’t kick them (thx to the new voting system!)

Not gonna test this game again until they have made this ready.

Disappointment once again…

Ranked isn’t enabled so, what team balance? You expect a drop in drop out system with zero ranking and zero repercussions for leaving to have balanced teams? Jesus Christ.

So basicly this is unplayable 'cos there is no ranked game. Game after game it’s stomp or get stomped and oh snap that really gets boring.

(Sorotia) #17

So far I’m not seeing any pro’s…things look different but I don’t play DB for the looks.

The con I’m getting is killing the game for me…just getting these random FPS lag spikes that I’ve never gotten ever before with DB, died multiple times thanks to this BS.

This is me basically.

i have mixed feelings toward the lighting, its much better to see enemies on trainyard now, but chapel lost some of its charme.

ah, and the reduced amount of ammo sucks hard.

and the pro is not a pro cause nobody needs that much fps.

…the new weaponsounds are nice, i guess?

(Herr_Hanz) #19

Pro’s: MK46 Feels like a laserbeam
con: everything looks too much like Colorgrading 2, which i hated.

The game still tries to balance based on the people connected to the server.

Also, “unplayable”? Did you ever play any games beyond just a couple years ago when quick play matchmaking started being done? Did you ever play any game where you simply joined a server and played? Literally decades of games have simply been you join a server and play. Even with proper matchmaking that is pulling from the whole playerbase like what CMM will be won’t make every game balanced as there are factors beyond the systems control.

So saying something like the game is “unplayable” is a bit odd considering the history of games. Granted, you might only have history with recent games that only do matchmaking but that’s a relatively new thing. And, again, there are still plenty of stomps. Two other recent games off the top of my head has really good casual and ranked matchmaking yet stomps still commonly occur. Just like how one NFL team or NBA team can dominate another despite their skill levels being pretty equal.
