Personally not a fan. I wasn’t a fan of the containment war ones either tbh. I don’t think either of them look good, but at the end of the day they’re only skins. Rather a gold or cobalt tbh.

Its in the human nature to constantly complain. You will never make everybody happy. I think SD already heard the community when they introduced hours based rewards, like the little trinkets…

Fugly skins or not, I am happy that somethings going on. Hopefully it will attract new players to the community.

The sweaters only look good in team view, but let’s be real, who ever looks at their teammates?

But the guns… the bump maps are so good, but the colour is so bad, it’s a conflict.

Why doesn’t the silver carbon fibre have the same effect? It’s so smooth, it looks kind of weird.

Yeah. I just want to chime in and second everyone saying that the rarity is a bit harsh.

That being said I imagine people are shelling out for elite cases. As you’re all probably aware, the main income for freemium games comes from a very small number of active users.

Eventually, once the whales have shelled out for a million elite cases and gotten all the cobalts they desire, hopefully it will become a little less rare.

Look at it this way: I’ve played 160 hours, bought a bundle and some other items in the store, and participated in every “event”. I own 2 worthless Vasilli gold cards, 0 cobalts, and 0 event/seasonal cards.

That’s pretty outlandish. I’m not crying over here about how I need rare items, I love the gameplay & the community and that’s why I’m here.

Still though, I think in theory it would be fair to assume I (and anyone else in my situation) have earned the privilege of owning at least one rare item after over 6 days of game time and purchases.

Also, the events should definitely be a regular occurrence. I enjoyed CW. Even the daily missions are enough to keep me logging in for a round or two every day at least. Imagine these will help continue to engage the playerbase and attract new players.

I guess I’m one of the few people who really appreciate the antique look of the gun with the natural wood and engraved copper :frowning: I think it’s quite appropriate for the Dickens theme, much more classy than some wacky candy-cane color scheme.

Haven’t really seen them yet so I’ve been going off what people tell me. I’d love to see somewhat of a classic/wooden look on the guns, but from what I hear, they’re just very dull.

I get where they were going though, considering Charles Dickens’ novels and such.

tbh the drop rate for event cards should be higher than 0.3% a lot higher its an event only happens once a year for xmas/holidays its not even worth it to buy them

I saw my friend get on EVERY MISSION RESET to do his dailies, for six days.
He even streamed for over THIRTY HOURS during the “guaranteed cases” weekend.
He spent around 400k for one crap Containment card, and got ONE guaranteed case that gave him a Gold card over the weekend. (Not the 4 A+B for each day of the weekend like I remember it suppose to have been, due to them being bugged.)

Luckily, I didn’t waste that much time on it. I just went for about ~100k and got nothing.
It seriously isn’t worth doing. Not for even 1%.
2% would maybe be worth doing. This is coming from someone who CAN spend 12 hours a day farming credits, but refuses to even do missions because it just isn’t worth the time or effort, especially when playing Competitive often.

How did he get a Gold card from a guaranteed case? That’s not even possible unless it was bugged/glitched. If that’s the case, he should have contacted support. :wink:

But yeah, I get what you’re saying, and there’s tons of people who did similar things as he did and ended up with nothing or near nothing.

I consider myself extremely lucky during the last event, (before the “guaranteed case” weekend. I received 3 CW Card drops so that was nice. I also got 1 CW guaranteed case. In total, I received 4 cards, 3 of which were Vassili. 0 of which had the MOA in the loadout. :frowning:

Actually, I believe the correct term here would be embossed copper rather than engraved.

I’m guessing your not running a config with all the bells and whistles? Have a look at the trinkets video but focus on the guns themselves instead of the dangly bits attached to them :wink:
