Your opinion of the blishlok

#1

I wasn’t very successful with that gun yet.
I got it when I crafted my golden Sawbonez and right now I believe it was a waste of credits.

So what’s your opinion?

(singular) #2

I enjoy using it. I think it’s best to first understand its capabilities if you really want to take advantage of it. I use it the same way I use a shotgun. CQB only. If I see someone far away I’m just going to get myself spotted and blasted if I even try to go for it.

#3

Well, I’ve changed my opinion a bit.

You are true, it’s better not to fight on a long distance.
I mean, you can hit people but it’s rather difficult.

Just one question: What does CQB mean?

Close Quarters Combat!

Oh, haha. Why didn’t I think of that.

Thanks.

I love it both CQC and mid range. Although the scoped mid range is not very usefull due to the overly large green blob. I can use it efficient to shoot under the tank at the legs of proxy’s evil grin. Tip, stand behind the ‘wheels’ when repairing.

(Szakalot) #7

Hate it. feels very inconsistent, one time you’ll get 3 headshots in a row, and another time none of your shots hit the target.

my least favorite weapon in the game.

(opicr0n) #8

You are right about some inconsistancy. Indeed I get ackward three headshot streaks and sometime none. But still I like it a lot, maybe I am just very bad with other SMGs.

The only other weapon I play a lot is proxy’s shotty ^^. Running around the map going, boom, boom, boom. They will hear me coming haah.

(avidCow) #9

A slow firing SMG doesn’t make much sense to me. Sure it’s great when every shot connects, but sometimes you play against proxy and aura players who know how to dodge properly and suddenly its low rof feels like a big handicap.

(Gi.Am) #10

While I’m not to found of the blishlok myself. I die way too much from it to call it garbage.
There seems to be people out there that make it work.

It’s statistically the worst SMG in the game. The only reason people use it is because for mercs like aura, it’s the only SMG they have. It’s pretty much never seen in competitive play for mercs that have access to other SMGs, though.

Don’t get me wrong a good player can still do work with it, but they could be a lot more effective with something like a crotzni.

Yep, that’s because it seems to have very high spread increase which means your first shot will usually hit but everything afterwards will miss especially at medium and long range.

(Gi.Am) #12

I’ve seen Bushwhackers and Sawbonez with Blishloks and they did well.

Not saying that the gun is balanced, just stating that it is not as horrible as people think it is.

(sharpSubmarine) #13

I think once they will adjust the horrible green blob when you iron-sight with it, the Blishlok will be a very interesting gun, it could distinguish itself from other SMGs for its better performance in mid-range and specialize in it.

(KangaJoo) #14

The thing is it’s weaknesses, in particular it’s high spread increase, become a lot more obvious at mid and long range. The only range where you can use it and consistently get headshots is actually close range.

(reliableTortoise) #15

i actually like the bishlock… it had a high Spread increase per second but if u tapfire it usually it works fine… worked well for me so far no issues with long range counter sniping…

(KangaJoo) #16

Like people have said you can still do well with it but it really is pointless to use if you can use a different smg.

(Grave_Knight) #17

How so? Those different SMGs don’t do nearly the same damage as a Blishlok. They just have a higher RoF.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yYDiX77THpjA-hImu2eRLio-ayOvGnDEeorZgHAieVQ/edit#gid=490808091 there’s the link to the doc that has all the known weapon stats. As you can see the blishlok has the lowest DPS out of all the smgs. Unfortunately, they haven’t been able to get any accuracy stats but from what people have been able to figure out, the blishlok also has the highest spread increase out of all the smgs which makes it really inconsistent and increases its effective TTK by a lot.

(sharpSubmarine) #19

I see what you mean. I struggled quite a bit to have a decent performance with it, but not nearly as much difficulty as I had with the SMG-9, so maybe the Blishlok suits my playstyle a little.

But I agree with you, it needs a buff, and as I mentioned before it could be an SMG that specializes more in mid-range combat. It could be achieved maybe increasing its overall accuracy and slightly reducing its damage (both body shots and HS) while leaving untouched the ROF.

Even at mid range and close range, its TTK is still longer than all the other SMG’s. Statistically, it’s worse than all the other SMG’s in almost every way. If they increased it’s accuracy and damage, or at least headshot multiplier, then it might actually be used at the competitive level again.
