  1. Witcher 3, not even a question. As a huge Souls fanboy, I’d love to say Bloodborne, but Witcher 3 is clearly the greater game.

Best Sports/Racing Game - Idk… only one the titles really stand out but at the same time I have a feeling that people will have lack of imagination and pick Fifa 16 aka the same bloody game you’ve bought many many times already

I’m predicting that PC Gamer will give either one of those titles for Killing Floor 2 since… well… idk but I have a feeling that they’re biased for TWI.

I would of loved to have said fallout 4, but with the major performance issues an all killed the 7 year long hype I had for the game within an instant…plus its like they flipped the polarity with everything. All that was bad in fallout 3 (the gunplay for instance) is amazing in fallout 4 and everything that made fallout 3 great (the rpg elements, the CHOICE etc) has become bad…

Halo 5 is impossible to play (yet to try it on my monitor using an ol fashioned tv) story is bland, with ai companions which provide nothing and don’t listen to you whatsoever and the multiplayer, 10 maps that play exactly the fucking same with warzone being the only savior which has subtle rts elements (with added microtransactions oh boy!!! 9.99 at a chance to use a warthog thanks 343) with the maps being too detailed and not being able to change fov/gfx settings its impossible to pick out enemies at a distance, yet the console master race has no problem tracking me, if it was flipped I wouldn’t be the one complaining, its literally nausaeting to play and no splitscreen/forge has completely killed the franchise for me, if that gets GOTY my hope for gaming is dead…or at least I know its rigged. Bought the Xbox One for this and apparently “Next-Gen” means gutting everything a lesser powered machine could do flawlessly.

Same goes for Battlefront, its a bitter shell of what its predecessors were (from what I played of the beta, just copy/paste from battlefield), with half the content cut out again…

Why do AAA publishers/developers hate gaming (and money) so much, please just leave the industry altogether and let devs like SD take over, they know how to make a damn good game, and there’s is not even finished yet ; )

These last 2-3 years have been a major disappointment from the big players in the industry. With Indie titles grabbing my attention more and more. then again that is when i fully transitioned from console to PC, so not sure if I have become more aware or if the industry has just become this bad.

EDIT: from the list the only game I can see that is worthy is Rocket League, that game is nothing but straight crazy fun + mad hilarity and a method to test the stability of friendships ; )

Multiplayer wise, yea, but see, I really don’t give a shit what some magazine says is game of the year since it doesn’t pertain to me. That, and a lot of times something wins because it’s played by a lot more people on a more common platform, like consoles.

Last year my multiplayer game of the year was Titanfall, cause I could not put it down. I kept coming back to it until it basically died, cause everything else just didn’t have the same satisfaction.

As unbalanced as Dirty Bomb is, it still feels the most fun to play, and more satisfying than other multiplayer games right now.

I don’t have a singlepayer goty though, I barely have had time to play any. :smiley:

MGSV is honestly the most mechanically deep and the most fun out of the GOTY nominations up there, but the way it was handled really keeps it down. Bloodborne comes in a close second, and FO4 shouldn’t even be up there with how bad it was. Didn’t play Super Mario Maker or Witcher 3, so my opinion kinda becomes invalid here. as for the rest,

The mobile square enix “GO” games are really good. They’re smart, visually attractive puzzle games. I played Hitman GO as I got it on a humble bundle some when and it makes perfect sense to me that this one got the award, as the spiritual predecessor was that good.

Now regarding the winners list, some seem really obvious, while others are kinda like: they liked that game and made it get everything in its category. I understand how rocket league can get best sports game but ori was a much better indie game. Same for CS, give it E-sports but the multiplayer award could go to someone else…

Also… I’m just wondering why mobile and handheld games share a category? It’s like making PC and Wii U games sharing a category, two completely different things.
