If only there was a merc, that could flank them from behind… Sadly we don’t have our DB version of TF2 spy. That sure would discourage them, and turn them into easy prey
Your Average Vassili Player
Sure…if they can play…but 99 out of 100 Vasilli can’t score anything but pot shots.
This can be said about any class really…
Medics:
“good ones crush the soul of the enemy team, bad ones crush the soul of your own team”
Engineers:
“good ones crush the soul of the enemy team, bad ones crush the soul of your own team”
Fire Support:
“good ones crush the soul of the enemy team, bad ones crush the soul of your own team”
Assault:
“good ones crush the soul of the enemy team, bad ones crush the soul of your own team”
Remove snipers, then what? Remove shotguns? Have everyone running around with only SMGs and Assault rifles?
The bottom line is… bad players are bad, good players are good, and great players are great.
Deal with it.

The system should really be adjusted. Having mercs that cost less for seemingly no reason creates the illusion that they’re somehow inferior, which changes how new players see the game.
B-But… in that case Vassili SHOULD cost less, let the newbies think they’ll be inferior if they get Vassili!
Less Vassilis equals lower buying price >.<
Being realistic though, unless you change the price of Vassili to 100k, the amount of Vassilis we see in lower levels shouldn’t change unless a Sniper Elite game ends up being a massive failure and they forward their playerbase to DB.
I used to love that game… getting shot at Spawn over and OVER and OVER AGAIN was much Fun

Assault:
“good ones crush the soul of the enemy team, bad ones crush the soul of your own team can be used as meat sheilds”
Usually bad assaults are still useful though…
As a meat shield maybe.
The way people are talking about snipers is 1) they can’t hit anything, and 2) they don’t use their abilities properly.
If this is also true for other classes, they are pretty well just as useless.

Not only can a bad assault/medic/engineer be used as a meat shield but they can also be pretty usefull distractions by themself, for every gun aimed at your teammate is one less aimed at you. A bad sniper cant be used as a meat shield and the enemy probably doesn’t even know that he exist,
Sniper Elite? Would be pretty boring just watching enemy soldiers patrol the map hour after hour.
I honestly have a lot more fun in matches with no snipers and/or shotguns. It’s just not that fun being killed randomly from across the map, or from a hollunds shoved down your throat. That’s not to say it doesn’t take skill and that it can’t be countered, but I really don’t think the game would be worse off if either were removed.
It’s just my opinion of course, but for a fast paced game with tanky characters, one-shot kill weapons seem a bit out of place.

Sadly, some people actually want this! LOL.

Except that you are assuming the bad sniper is sitting off in the back doing nothing. An assault or medic can also be accused of this, and I see it happen all the time. (they are usually on my team…)
The bad sniper could also be running up front and getting killed over and over again. (still bad)
But this isn’t the classes fault but the fault of the player who chooses to play them that way.
That being said, I’d rather have a bad sniper than a bad medic. A medic role is usually filled if no one else is playing them, but even 1 bad medic on the team usually stops other people from trying to fill that role, even though it isn’t really being utilized.
A bad medic is just false security, and I end up playing in a more risky fashion knowing I have a medic on my team, only time to find out they are totally oblivious and won’t help me. I don’t have the same issue when there is a bad Sniper on my team.

Never trust anyone in pub games nor in ranked games. You cannot underestimate the stupidity of the majority Dirty Bomb players. If you believed in them, all I can say is RIP, ready to watch an Aura passing by you without any merciful revive.
@Herr_Hanz ? :D
im only level 75, so if people talk about ‘that one level 75 vassili main’ that could be me
havent been on the forums in a while tho.
And the low level Skyhammer dropping airstrike markers in spawn while not giving ammo to teammates is helping the team?
And the low level medics not reviving anyone.
Ugh dont make me remember the low level medic i had yesterday.
I was down and a aura runs to me while charging her defibrillator. I was overjoyed, a low level medic that actually knows that he can charge his defibrilator. There was only one problem he didnt know that he had to release the mouse button, he stood there for a whole 15sec next to my body, hoping for something to happen. That day i died a little inside,
Maybe… Just MAYBE, his mouse got disconnected.
I’d like to believe the best in low level auras.
