You need to open up BETA to more players - the Australian servers are empty

(Mako) #1

Jumped back on for first time in a while and its rare to get a decent amount of players on the Aussie servers - 8pm on a Sunday and not a single player on, last night at prime time one server was full and all else empty so either wait for a spot on that one or take the risk of starting population on another empty one.

More players are needed, I have a mate waiting for a beta key right now! Also whats the deal with these forums, Chrome just asked if I wanted to translate the page from Korean into English

(mOist) #2

they should find a Australian gaming site and offer them x amount of keys , that way not only does it populate the AUS servers it also promotes the game in that region. wont happen tho.

(Eox) #3

I’m not australian, but I’d love to share some keys with friends.

(avidCow) #4

Yes, more please. But not just AUS, New Zealand too. We play on the AUS servers. I bought in, and I don’t want to be disappointed again like I was with Hawken; watching the player count slowly wilt away.

(chickenNwaffles) #5

Open beta + release all mercs, then balance the game from there based on community/competitive player feedback.

(Nail) #6

there’s lots of Aussies with keys, they just don’t play

(Mako) #7

Its a damn shame, I wanted to get my Dirty bomb on this evening and 8.30pm the last player leaves the last slot on the last server. Game is dead in Australia again for the evening. Looks like its the same for EU and US for the most part only 2 or 3 servers with people on at any one time the rest empty, I guess they are just hoping people will pay for the MERC pack on steam to get access?

I’ve been waiting for a beta key for about 1-2 years…
Quite unfaire

…Wow. I got key within a month (just in time for the March stress test) and still grabbed the merc pack to show my love. I’d be super sweet of the devs to maybe give a key to those who bought the merc pack after already having a key. winkwink nudgenudge

Not that I’m special, I’m sure a lot of beta-key players bought in as well. I’m just sure we all have a friend or two we’d like to get a code for.

(Amerika) #10

Yeah, I didn’t quite understand why buying the merc pack didn’t include an extra beta key unless they were worried about too big of an influx of players during closed beta. I bought the merc pack to support as well and it would have been nice to get a spare key to give to a friend who wanted to try the game out. It’s not a huge deal, especially if they were worried about capacity, but it was an odd decision to make without explaining it. Or if they did explain it I haven’t seen it.

(avidCow) #11

Or they play US. :expressionless:

(Kouken) #12

Because ours are empty

(avidCow) #13

I managed 4 peeps last night by waiting on a server, but it took about 10 minutes to gain any momentum. Shame.

Because ours are empty

If only there was a way they could solve that themselves…

(Glot) #15

this is exactly why there should not be an Openbeta anytime soon. before the some crutial things like
‘maps’ (bad maps lead to boredome)
‘matchmaking’ (does not work properly)
‘balanced mercs’ (no Overpowered once, only powerful)
‘depth in gameplay’ (mercs interaction, more complex objects, more counter abilities)
are adressed.

if OBT starts next 2 monthes. then in the next 3 monthes we will see the game dies with 300 max ppl playing - just like now.

(FrankUnderwood) #16

Dome is far from bad. it’s a little bloated, but conceptually the best map in the game.

(Glot) #17

well i can say, that Dome, Bridge, Chapel, Terminal, Trainyard - all have great potential and will eventually become good or even great maps with some changes. But right now i cannot call any map a good one in its current state.

I never said ‘good’…not that you said I did. But given the freemium-closed-beta pretext, they’re all pretty good for where we’re at. There are some excruciating choke points in just about all of them, but I think that could fade with the balancing we should see by open beta.

(responsibleKen) #19

I am Australia based and desperate for a key. Not prepared to buy in until have at least tried it once.

(CCP115) #20

I am in New Zealand. I have no issues with playing on AU servers, the ping is fine. I actually got two keys right before the March stress test, and gave one to a friend. And AU servers are empty 90% of the time which is such a shame.
