The “You killed player X” message on top is needed.

Yeah, it’s there for turret kills and “Assault weapon kill” so I can’t really see why it’s not on all guns.

For me personally, it does look better on the bottom at the same places for the messages mentioned above.

We are referring the Quake style messages that pop up saying just that “You killed X”. I only get those messages with the soldier, turret and mines. If people are getting this with all weapons we might want to consider this a bug? :slight_smile:

There should be fireworks in the sky spelling out the name every time I get a kill ><

I don’t think it’s needed, especially not in the middle of the screen like ET. It’s only distracting. Maybe expand the message in the right top corner with “Player X has been killed by Player Y”. At least that’s my opinion :smiley: I like to have the screen as clean as possible (no pop ups etc.)

Yeah, BUT sometimes it is an important tactical information to know you killed xy which you would know without even looking at the message if it is like quake style but looking on the top right corner to check for YOUR kill in the spam of killmessages just gets yourself killed.

Exactly. I want immediate information about what I did without any inconvenient efforts, like searching my kill message between many on the “kill message box” on top.

I love those announcer comments. But, sometimes my Quake breaks and it just tells me “Impressive!” over and over and over again…

IMHO, TF2 has a pretty good implementation of this feature - just highlighting kill by player in general killboard.
