I only force myself for the credits. If there are daily play credits only, then I join the match when it’s ending.
I don’t enjoy elimination game modes at all.

no hate it…it’s worth of my daily 500c (even that one I look for a server which says “match ends soon”) xD
I understand some people like it, but I think it was a massive waste of development time. I wish I could of seen more Stopwatch maps, characters etc, instead of Execution.
There’s still a hope for execution maps. If SD did 180, by dumping execution and converting them into Capture Point/Turf War/Domination/However, then the maps are saved!
Multiple game modes sounds great on paper, however it’s the popularity that decides which one will survive the most.
I would enjoy them more if they were king of the hill or capture point game modes, instead of permadeath, which is not what the merc specialization was designed for.
Execution is only fun when both teams are balanced in skill and its an intense battle to the end. That’s when you get those awesome plays and clutch moves that either make or break or game.
More often then not though, one team gets all of the level 5 potatoes and the other team roflstomps them 7-0, which isn’t really fun if you’re on either side of the stomp.
Waste of resources and development time. Gallery is nice but execution makes it awful.
It’s not that bad, really… every now and then I play execution.
It takes the lull of playing stopwatch and objective on the same few maps available on the same few servers uber and uber egen.
I like execution because there are no respawns during a round. It feels like dying is actually penalized and staying alive is rewarded, which they should be.
I dislike it because I feel like it punishes taking risks. Being aggressive becomes a 2 minute trip to spectator mode. Whereas you could sit back (to me, that’s rather boring) and play really slow and stay alive.
Sometimes I’ll play it and enjoy it, but other times it infuriates me.
no, i would rather run around and shoot (like some guy cold them when i felt bad for stomping) “farmables”.
i really dont enjoy it, i dont even bother getting that 500c bonus
I like it. SW is still my favorite, but execution is great now and then. I always need to put a bit of effort to play it, but it can be very rewarding sometimes, when teams are balanced and people know what to do.
Execution definitely ONLY became playable since the introduction of minlvl10 servers. Still, way too many people play cluelessly, too bad.
Execution has those amazing moments when a frontline emerges between the two teams, and people try to use their aim&abilities to win the fight. With good medics these exchanges can take a full minute, people down to their last bullets, taking risks just to gib that high-value player.
There is definitely more motivation to teamplay (even though there are plenty of complete potatoes), as dying is more punishing, so people work together hoping to survive : ) Generally, people are screwing around a bit less than in pub obj/sw, cause screwing around gets you killed.
I’m just coming back from a game on gallery, where both teams were quite even skill-wise; we were losing on defense 4-6 though, enemy team had a consistent push up the middle.
We couldn’t hold it because enemy had naders n stokers against our squishy 80-90hp proxy-aura-kira team. A bit of discussion, and we switched to beefier thunder/fragger mercs, bunkered down bit further back, behind aura stations, and won the last two rounds purely by HP attrition (they had a sparks and a Sawbonez, who couldn’t provide all the heals during these long firefights, whereas our Aura n Phoenix could keep everyone topped up); eventually resulting in a Draw. Great Game, nothing like it.
If they aren’t punished, then are they risks in the first place?

The 30 second respawn timer is already punishing, and you lose the round if you die and mess up. This way, it’s an extension of something already punishing enough and you lose all of your progress, which is too punishing and doesn’t have a place in a team-based objective game with multiple character types. As a result, very few people play and enjoy the gamemode.
Except a full 30 seconds or close very rarely happens. The fact is that death is very cheap in OBJ and SW. One of the things new players are taught in DB, in fact, is that they shouldn’t camp around being cautious because even if they die they’ll respawn soon anyway and their precious KD ratio isn’t helping anyone. Calling deaths in OBJ and SW punishing is almost laughable when you consider how half the playerbase uses death timing strategically and the other half doesn’t even care about winning in the first place.
No, The situations some mercs leave a player in means an instant kill and gib or at least one player, Especially if one were to fight Tankier assault classes while most people bring up CS:GO, Counterstrike at least makes sense since the variables one could find themselves in are much different than in Dirty Bomb, since the game isn’t class based.
I felt the same about it in TF2, I think I’d feel the same if it was put in Overwatch, a one life gamemode with a class based shooter just don’t mix is all I’m saying.
