From my experiance on PS3 most free DLC for mulitplatforms that I can remember all came through updates and didnt require you to go to the online store for anything. I would have to assume it works the same exact way on Xbox360.

What good is DLC going to do anyone playing the broken console version of Brink? You could pay us to download the DLC and we still wouldn’t be able to play a real game of Brink on it.

Its insulting we’ve got SD representatives talking about DLC when all they should be talking about is getting the game into a playable state. You didn’t release a game yet. Might want to work on that.
