Xbox controller works perfectly except for turn/look speed

(SinDonor) #1

Hi all. I was just dicking around with the Controls menu and checked my connected xbox-style controller and realized the inputs can map to the actions in game. Yeah yeah, PC Master race KBM whatever.

Anyways, everything works GREAT once I went through and mapped it all, except that I cannot change the turn/look speed for the Analog Right Stick. The Mouse Sensitivity setting is only for the mouse (duh).

Any chance that the game could be updated to edit the look speed using a controller analog stick?

While you’re at it, how about the movement speed as well for walk/jog mapped to if the analog stick is pushed 0-50% for “walk”, then 51-100% for “jog” (and I click in the stick for Sprint)?

Please let me know. I’d love to play with the controller. I’m gonna get pwned by all you ubers anyways, I might as well sit back in my chair and comfortably hold a controller instead of hunching over my desk using the keyboard and mouse.

I don’t see any reason not to get controllers fully working, just not right now since we have a lot of other stuff on.

I’ll add it to the backlog and see where it gets prioritised to

Make the game slower and up the hip fire spread, and you could have a console game port for both the new consoles to boot.

1t.h this game is pc exclusiv and hopefully will stay that way .
2nd. the most players want since start of alpha that this game goes more in the fast oldschool way . it feels already too much like a console game , as soon it will patched slower SD looses 90% of their current playerbase.(me included). about spread :pls not a cod clone!

anyway im sure SD working already on a game for consoles.to this point check the batman game

Yeah, no need to change ANYTHING for the PC controls/gameplay/etc, I’m just requesting a fix for the Analog Sticks for controller use. The controller works GREAT already, but it needs a sensitivity setting for turn/aim (like the Mouse control has) and also the Walk/Jog ability on the Move stick.

Sounds great! I’m sure controller support would be much appreciated by the people who grew up playing console shooters instead of PC shooters.

If only porting was that simple :frowning:

(SinDonor) #8

Yeah really. I did just download and play both Warframe and Blacklight on my PS4 and they both turned out alright.

(Nail) #9

PS4, is it worth buying at this time ?

(attack) #10

well from consoles to pc it looks like it is :D.So many “bad” console ports.(1o1 copy with nearly no changes in option or other stuff like optic) as example gta 4

I actually like playing single player games with the controller like Assassins Creed, Arkham series, Dishonored… but for a competition game like this? No way.

Guess SD is one of the few devs wich are actually capable of learning from their experinces in the past. Wich means solid, tailor made, versions for every platform, as opposed to the whole lot of mishmash, multi-platform, games out there.

PS: Playing with a controller and without aim assist, against players with a keyboard and mouse setup, sounds to me like painting a picture with boxing gloves on. But seriously, it really impresses me, that you guys are obviously experienced enough to even think about that. It would probably take me another ten years to come even close to this kind of controller skill.Yet I found myself using the controller more often for SP games. B:AO i.e. feels a lot better with a controller than with a mouse, though I haven’t tested it in B:AO’s MP as of yet. But I assume that I’ll find shooting/playing as a villain still easier with a mouse and keyboard.

Honestly, not really. Unless you’re a die hard Killzone fan. It’d probably be a good idea to wait a few months for the next round of releases in the Spring.

thanks, it’s not for me but I work with at risk foster kids and vid games are a way to connect on equal levels, got ps3 and 360, one guy is into old school game cube and n64

(Mustang) #15

Haha, it’s a new era for console’s, the bad PC ports.

(Raviolay) #16

I was thinking more along the lines of the making gameplay more accommodating for control pads than the work on the actual port.

Any update on the Right Analog stick getting a sensitivity option? Everything else can be mapped and works perfectly with a controller. Just no aim speed on the right stick is the deal breaker.

I recently mapped my controller to play Hawken and it works great. While I’m more accurate with the KBM, I can now sit back in my chair with the controller in hand and be much more comfortable than hunched over my desk using the kbm.
