Xbox 360 - Worth Picking Up Brink Again?

(Vanchatron) #1

I bought Brink the day it came out, and the actual “gameplay” I really enjoyed. The problem was (as I’m sure many of you are aware) that whenever I tried to play online, I literally couldn’t even move of my own accord. If I moved forwards even slightly, my character would start lagging all over the place and doing things I didn’t want him to do.

I then waited until there was a patch (which was supposed to have fixed the problem, by putting less human players into a match with you) but unfortunately for “me” it didn’t.

I know for a fact it’s not my connection, as I can play Crysis 2, Black Ops, and many other games online lag free.

Anyway… I traded in Brink and got Black Ops. Unfortunately the gameplay just wasn’t right for me (too fast paced) and I didn’t enjoy it. That’s not to say it’s a bad game, I just personally didn’t like it.

So I’m basically on the lookout for a new game, and was wondering if the problems with Brink have been sorted out yet. Do you guys think it’d be worth re-buying Brink or should I just go with another game (LA Noire perhaps)?

Thanks.

I’d wait until the free dlc in June thats supposed to fix everything. Half the games are still very laggy.

There’s a patch later today isn’t there?

For PC yes,i don’t know about the consoles.

But they already sayed the console patch was send to microsoft for testing.
So if not today, maybe in 2-3 days or something.Depends on microsoft, there will be no patch till they say “go”.
Same for Sony i guess.

@ OP

I would wait one more week, till patch is up and the game is hopefully running as intended. ^^

Can’t recommend that you re-buy it yet. There are too many better options out there. If I had my money back, I’d buy LA Noire or Portal 2. Actually, you could get Monday Night Combat for PC or Xbox. The community isn’t as large as it once was, but it is a far better objective based FPS than Brink (at least as things stand now).

Get it

The community needs people with patience who are willing to wait for the stability of the game to improve. However, I do understand that is a big request for most consumers …

I do really wanna try LA Noire… hmm

I wouldnt buy brink just yet - I would wait for this patch:

We’ve been hard at work investigating the lag issues some players of the Xbox 360 version of Brink have reported. We’ve now completed modifications to improve network performance and will be rolling these out in a title update for the game.

This update has been submitted to Microsoft, and we expect it to be available next week.

Its still pretty laggy tonight, as of 10pm UK time. Also trying to play with friends and its a mare getting everyone in a game.
