Xbox 360 user: Brink is awesome and lots of people play!

This thread was resurfaced from the pits of hell, to inform you that on 360 the player base has not died, we are still going strong!

****Attention everyone should have their matches set to competitive mode…

Hey I have notice a lot of ignorant post on this board and others on the subject of Brink and I am starting to realize its because people don’t actually understand this game and how it works. First off I’d like to clear up this whole lobby system thing, there is technically a lobby its integrated into the stage. Search for a game under competitive mode and the game will throw you into a random stage in either two ways, one way you might already be in a match full of real people, (yes sh** tons of people play Brink on 360) or two you will be in a match all alone, this is basically the perfect situation if you want to play with a group of friends, from here simply press start and then add xbox live party or you can invite friends individually, or any random person can join as long as its a public match, also you can make a private matches and do the same thing, actually if you think about it xbl provide kind of a lobby for friends anyway.

OK enough with that, as I am sure this sounds like BS to a lot of you guys and you still think they need a better lobby system… But the most important things I would like to touch on is the people complaining about not being able to play with other real people. Its just simply not true, select competitive and get ready to get your world rocked, there is a ton of us playing on that mode because it does not allow bots.

Brink gets a lot of harsh criticism, extra backlash, and negative hatred for pushing the envelop and trying to stand apart from the “Me Too” crowd.

Don’t listen to the haters. Haters Gonna Hate.

Absolutely. People just go to town. I do understand that the game can be frustrating, but mostly because it has depth, which means it takes time to master. You do need to play with some other folks, but this forum has allowed me to add some folks I have been playing games with last night and today.

Give it a chance and learn form those who have been playing for a bit. When it comes together it really feels good. But people are impatient. I for one hope the game continues to be supported and developed and I can continue to add new folks.

I wouldn’t say the game has depth per se. After a week you could probably figure out everything there is to know. Especially thanks to the 1 button for everything. But I’m talking from a PC point of view.

Not to say it’s a bad game though, but it does still need some tweaks

Yeah ppl play brink. But no where near the amount like crappy COD or Reach. You can go on 2 in the morning and you can get a full game in COD easy everytime all the time. Not so much with Brink. Infact you will be put into a bot match and you will get 2 or 3 guys in the game.

They need to get rid of the Rank restrictions all together. And my crystal ball says paid DLC in the future of Brink will kill this game. Not enough ppl as is. And no one in their right mind will pay for dlc down the road in idk end of August or in September when all the insainly great titles come out after the summer.

Its this free DLC and then its over. Unless a rabbit gets pulled out of Brinks @$$. No one is going to keep playing for more paid DLC outfits.

But this is going to be the only FPS for MP action for awhile. Who knows, maybe it will pick up and I hope so, but the damage from launch has already been done and the online and magazine reviews are etched in. No one will take heed of the fixes the game has gotten.

We are a dying Breed.

^ The My Rank or Higher can be annoying because it works weird. There should be a Any Rank setting.

Seems like this can be said about ever recent release other than Halo or COD BOPS. Medal of Honor, Homefront, SOCOM4, Red River - they all got pretty well hammered. Why is that? Because they are all bad or because everyone chooses to be super critical and not give things a chance. I certainly think some aspects of the game should have been ironed out prior to release, but it’s a good game and can be even better. Otherwise what are we left with 2 games, two ruts in the road that everyone is suppose to fall into. I hope not.

The thread will resurface whenever it is needed, like now when the post on the forum begin to get too negative!
