Xbox 360 textures.

To “Resolve”/render the textures quicker install the game onto your hard drive, just thought i would put that out there:) Happy Arking :penguin:

(Sparrow) #2

Have you done this yourself? Because if you did, you would know this doesn’t help one bit.

(ThePuzzldPirate) #3

Huh, worked wonders for me, I don’t get barley any texture pop in.

(Jak Swift) #4

Im talking to an american friend of mine and he said it worked for him also, you smartass.

(vexicat) #5

huh. Too bad my harddrive is a 6gb one…

Why did they even make these harddrives?

(fearlessfox) #6

Jak, the majority this “fix” hasn’t done anything for according to feedback at least. It’s definitely had a noticeable effect for you?

(Jak Swift) #7

I dident say “Fix”
I said “Resolve”/render the textures quicker"
And apparantly its noticibly better, im not saying it still dosent need adressing though.

(X Trigger I) #8

It’s better then what it was when installed to HD.

That’s why it was in quotation marks; I wasn’t being absolute.

(EcafNoGav) #10

Better yet, install it to a good USB stick. Texture load in improves noticeably even over the hdd in almost all games, especially UE3 ones. Though it’s still there, it’s not near as bad as some of the videos I’ve seen.

(Nail) #11

can 360’s use SSD ?

(Cheerio) #12

I installed it first thing I got it. The textures have like a .1 second load. Which isnt even noticable

(EcafNoGav) #13

I think you’d have to mod your 360 to use SSD on it.

(BothBarrels) #14

I`d be interested to know is there noticeable improvement playing it on a Slim and installed , compared to playing on a 4 year old 360 with no hdd ?

(meccs) #15

That’s what it looks like installed on the HDD --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YIJNQXbhQ8

he did not say he installed it to his hard drive… someone asked but he did not reply.

(meccs) #17

yeah… just wanted to show how bad it is

(BothBarrels) #18

this footage says its just over a month old and that it is from a PS3 ( Its a sixaxis being used anyway ) so can anyone confirm that it looks like this on THEIR ps3 !

it has a great framerate , lighting , animation , that annoying " red & blue effect " is gone and it looks like a game that people would run out and buy .

now before i get flamed , i`m not a cod or killzone fanboy …but i can appreciate these these games on the whole are quite impressive to look at and generally perform well online .

so the question i would love answered by a dev from Splash Damage is this !

Why does my xbox360 version of Brink look substandard compared to the games mentioned above and why are advertisments still showing pre rendered " gameplay " thus misleading customers ?

(PopeTackler) #19

I just put the game in and the first thing that stood out to me was how horrible the graphics are for an Xbox 360 game. I have it installed and the pop-in is still very noticeable. But beside the pop-in, which I could live with until it’s fixed, the graphics look terribly jagged and downright ugly. Launch titles for the 360 didn’t look this bad…

(BothBarrels) #20

So some players say they have very little graphical issues others say that it`s pretty bad !

does installing the game onto a slim rather than playing on a old 4 year old 360 make any difference to performance ?
