Xbox 360 PSA: Install the game to your HDD!

(SinDonor) #1

If you are currently maining Brink, like many of us here are doing, it is wise to install the game to your HDD. Not only does it keep your Xbox quieter and cooler (since the disc drive isn’t spinning non-stop), but the game and textures load much faster since the HDD is quite a bit faster than the disc drive.

DO IT NOW!

(wolfnemesis75) #8

I can’t do it because I still have the dinky 20gb HD Pro from 06. :frowning:

(SinDonor) #9

Wolf, yes you can. Just clear off some space. It’s only a GB or two I think.

(SinDonor) #10

Mmmmmm, this banana is sooooo good!

(FULL CLIP NR) #11

I actually stumbled upon this thread while installing the game to my hard drive. Just found the game yesterday and am excited to play.

Awesome, welcome! Send us a friend invite. Post your XBL gamertag up top in the community game night thread.

Mine is SinDonor.

Oh yeah, since u are installing now, how much HDD space is needed exactly? Thanks

(iezza) #13

5.5 something if i remember corectly.

(SinDonor) #14

Ok, 5.5 then. Cmon Wolf, you can clear that off of your HDD, right?

(wolfnemesis75) #15

Nope. Shivering Isles, Wizard’s Tower etc. Gears, Halo3, & Reach Maps. Awesome Trailers & Videos. Amongst other odds and ends I can’t part with. :frowning:

(Kurushi) #16

Keeping it bumped yeah

(iezza) #17

WOLF WOLF WOLF ! com 5.5 its a 1/4( i installed when i had my 20GB) and theres something like 5gb for system configs. so tis a whole 1/3 of your HDD for one game…

(Zekariah) #18

I grabbed a 250Gb HDD for 1st Gen 360 off ebay for $45AUD.

Definititely look into it, wolf!

(SinDonor) #19

You will notice a difference in all the games you install to it.

(nephandys) #20

Yeah it makes a difference with every title, some more so than others. With Brink in particular it makes a huge difference. I installed it day 1 on both 360s in my house and haven’t looked back since.

Wolf this may be part of the reason you get stuck on redeploy when I am hosting. If my game loads first due to being host and having it installed to my HDD, then I hit A, and rdy up. The game might be starting before you’ve even loaded the map.
