my desktop is using an ATI X1950Pro
I’m not sure if it’s equivalent to HD2900 Pro
but if it’s, is there any workaround to let me play Brink on my desktop?

The x1950 Pro is a generation older than the 2900 Pro.
It supports DirectX 9.0c and OpenGL 2.0.
Brink requires OpenGL 3.1 extensions, so it will not run on your system. The only work-around would be to upgrade at least your video card. But assuming your video card is that old, it may be the rest of your system doesn’t meet the minimum requirements either.

The information above is correct. The card is below minimum specifications for BRINK and will not allow you to run the game. There is no workaround.
