WTF?

OK, I know this is going to sound stupid, but I have been having this problem for millenia. I start a non-dedicated server, set pure to 0 “\sv_pure 0” set gametype to 2 “\g_gametype 2” and I even make sure PB is disable by typing “\pb_sv_disable” and it says its disabled. Whenever I try to devmap, it says it can’t find the map, and if I try to do something like developer 1 it says its cheat protected. What am I missing?!?!?!?

  1. what kind of file are you trying to run? .bsp or .pk3?
  2. Where are you placing these files? .pk3 --> /etmain, .bsp —> /etmain/maps

Its a .bsp in the maps directory. If I use a .pk3 and a .arena file I can run the maps fine.

You can’t set a server to impure after you’ve started it.

Easy way: don’t bother starting a server before loading the map, load the map to start the server. Start ET, drop the console while you’re at the main menu, set the game type and impure server, then launch the map by just using /devmap mapname.

:moo:

/sv_pure 0
/g_gametype 2
/sv_cheats 1
/devmap *
/developer 1

I’ve started the server non-pure many times before and it didn’t help. It always tells me that sv_cheats is cheat protected too, sin.

(Shallow) #7

Setting sv_cheats is irrelevant anyway - loading with devmap sets it to 1.

Did you try loading without starting the server first?

try with shortcut:
“C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\ET.exe” +set g_gametype 2 +set developer 1 +set sv_pure 0 +devmap mapnamehere

([rD]MrPink) #9

Now that did work. Thanks.
