Would you like to see Limited Founder Packs with each Expansion/Content Update?

[quote=“Jostabeere;117990”]No. Everyone needs a chance on getting everything special. And a luck-based model is the most fair thing for everyone.
CW-event did it right. If people didn’t drop a CW case, it’s only a bad luck. If it gonna be a payment, wall, the reason for people to leave gonna be corporate-greed and not bad luck.

They didn’t even give us the drop rate of the cases, for all we know next time they can drop it so low that very few people would get it and we would never know. The drop event was so short we couldn’t even gather a rough estimation, I doubt we have enough information even after the event for an accurate number.

They put guaranteed cases behind a excessively large paywall and gave away free guaranteed cases via a carrot on a very, very, very long stick. Seems like classic Nexon to me.

As a new player, I agree with this. Let the people who have been around longer and likely paid more money for the game have their fancy skins.

I don’t want to see “packs” of skins sold especially, though I’m not against it. I’m happy with cash-shop only skins (like every other game does), though I liked that the CW skins were available by just playing the game too. I think that’s a really good model to adopt, just the odds (on both drops and from buying elite cases) were wildly off. I don’t think everything needs to be available to free players, though - at the end of the day, the game has to make money and plenty of people are willing to buy a few skins, just stop layering them with goodness knows how much RNG.

They were obviously much better than normal cases since many people dropped multiple cases.
And no, classic Nexon would give away 7-days CW-skins for 10 €/$.

Many people also got nothing at all, some even had better chances with normal cases so it’s not so obvious.

Nexon also does the random cash grab boxes with RNG and also the RNG upgrading. I’m pretty sure there is at least one slimy cash shop system in all of the games they host.

I’d like more limited event cards, but not like the BS that SD done with this event, and without paying

(Runeforce) #27

I would like to see irl money only skins, like the founders with a special model tied to a common loadout, instead of reskins only like the special editions or different rarity levels, but it hardly makes any sense to make them time limited.

(APRenpsy) #28

Kinda like how League Of Legends did it right? In that case I’m all in for limited time skins, would even provide Sniff something else besides endless repeats…

One thing I like to add is I stated “Yes” but not for every single expansion update.

That would be crazy…

(Dwu) #29

They should just start selling real cosmetics like the founders skins are, stuff that actually makes you look different, no one gives a flying fuck about if your coat is blue or green.
I’d actually be willing to pay for cosmetic content like the founders skins.

Current monetization model must be straight out of a 6th graders notebook.
Unlock all mercenaries for everyone & implement merc/class restrictions in the game and start making money off of real cosmetic content. You’ll have more money and more players.

(Gung-ho) #30

Without it I doubt we’d ever see an “expansion”.

There are a range of other skins they could come up with: ruby and emerald for example - it’s just like Pokemon!

Additional voice (taunts for example), alternative projectile and deployable models (imagine Fragger throwing an actual pineapple grenade and some unique triggered animations are amongst the other things SD could introduce.

Founders are Founders, for anyone else, that ship sailed long ago

(CCP115) #32

Campaigns and Operation style events, where you pay money for a coin or token that shows that you supported the dev team, and also allows you to get rare event tied skins.

Thank you Valve for coming up with some of the best business models the world has even seen.

(Gung-ho) #33

And how would people view said token given profiles aren’t available to non-account holders? I would also rather pay for something guaranteed rather than rely on RNG; as a minimum a mixture between fixed/selectable and RNG rewards.

At the moment I think the biggest hindrance is that DB has a pretty narrow method of customisation which needs to be expanded.
