Would you even be mad if

(Jostabeere) #21

She is unfair and overpowered.

-fastest merc along with Aura and Sparks. Sparks only has a sidearm and Aura Blishlok. Blishlok is nice and Empire-9, too, but Hochfir is too strong for such a merc.

-Mines are op. They’re proximity mines but their range is too big. Place them around corners and you WILL get free-kills. You need to be a special merc and having a special perk to be able to outrun mines. All others will die. Every other explosion in the game need skill. Mines are just retardedly easy to use. Just spam them in corners or on C4 spot for kills without any input.

(watsyurdeal) #22

If you actually think Proxy is op can’t wait to see what you think of Fragger.

(Runeforce) #23

I also would not be mad if the game was made entirely free, with no money involved whatsoever, getting all the mercs unlocked from start with all the loadout cards in all rarities. Who would be mad about such a thing (except perhaps the publisher and developer)?

(watsyurdeal) #24

Personally, I don’t mind the loadout cards, but I do mind that not all mercs are available right away.

I would have preferred this game be something we have to buy, 20 bucks seems fair imo.

(Jostabeere) #25

Fragger is slower and his nades require skill. He got nerfed down to 1 nade, while Proxy still has 2 mines. What if I say you Fragger players need to aim their nades? Or precook them and not just putting them in a corner and getting free kills.
Also funny how people disagree on objective facts. There already was a video with the proof. You can’t dodge mines if you don’t have that perk where they track you slower than normal.
It makes them free-skillless-kills. That’s why every Proxy ever always spam every C4 place and get multiple kills with this cheap move.

Or - you could easily spot the mine and shoot it from a distance. Besides, mines are made for defending, it’s hardly a cheat move to place a few near the C4.

So tell me then how you spot a mine which is behind a corner in a corridor from distance? Or if they’re “glitched” into generators or half on diagonal-shaped walls? If you can’t counter them 100% of the time, they’re cheap and unfair gamedesign-wise.

(watsyurdeal) #28

You can hear the bloody things, and after a while you just start to predict where they’re going to be.

I mean shit, if you were going to place a mine, where would you put it?

(B_Montiel) #29

Proxy is the third choice as engineer in comp mainly because she lacks something. To different extents, all 80/90 hp mercs have a massive hp drawback which make totally unreliable in most of the combat situations, and their speed totally do not compensate it against players who have good aiming skills. Aura have pretty much the same problem minus the healing station. Kira can handle more as she has some specific spots of great usefulness. As for Sparks, as long as you keep your distance, it’s ok. But they all do have the same problem.

(watsyurdeal) #30

The funny thing is it seems like the low hp mercs are the ones who get a lot of flak, and do feel pretty godly I gotta say on pubs.

Kira with the BR 16? DAMN

Sparks with the Empire 9, Proxy with the Hochfir, they feel amazing, but against good players you feel like they fart in your general direction and it kills you.

It’s a stationary circle with a ring of red around it. If you suspect that there’s a mine somewhere toss an AoE in there and it will be guaranteed neutralised. Mines around corners are easy to predict, just long jump past them since there’s a short amount of time before it detonates.

So true.
Less experienced players are no problem.
If you have decent aim you can take them out like that and quickly rush to the next one.
However, once you fight against a somewhat experienced Fragger your chances are not that great.
You either need to have superior aim and consistently hit his head while doing some crazy dodge actions or run away and somehow flank/lure him.

Same thing with burst rifles.
Hilarious at newer players but can be very punishing at experienced ones.

Oh boy are you pretending or do you really wanna say you have time to check every corner for the mine sound when people are shooting around you? Please make a video of you seeing every mine you come across and neutralizing it if you can do it and I’m just bad. Please, enlighten me.
Those dumb-ass mines should be changed to either:
a) claymores with a fixed detector for spotting enemies
b) much smaller mines but without a dumb 2 meters activating range.

(Sorotia) #35

I don’t know about that…the turret spam would be REAL…real annoying…personally if people are worried about Proxy being to close to Aura then I’d say maybe Fletcher should be free?

Depends is it the right corner or the left corner? Wait, the answer is the same. Use your ears. However, even if it made no sound. It’s pretty obvious where they will be placed.

I’d suggest on improving your general game sense. Because the competitive community is asking for proxy mines sound to be removed. Which may actually happen, since she is useless as it stands.

@ the OP
I wouldn’t be mad if all mercs were free and the loadout cards were made strictly cosmetic. The game would be better off.

Since that won’t happen.

  1. I’ve already suggested that those 5 mercs be free.
  2. I suggested this as well.
  3. I think it’s dumb that you can’t buy any 3 mercs with a 20-50% discount. Their bundles are awful since you’re likely to have at least one of those mercs.
  4. I’d like to be able to trade them. I don’t care about the marketplace but I know a lot of people that would “play” because of the opportunity to make money.
  5. The marketplace wouldn’t make it obsolete it should be an alternate way to acquire things.
  6. I don’t care about cases so if they were awarded after each comp game, it’s whatever. The game is going to have leavers anyway.

I still don’t get why you can’t buy the exact cosmetic loadout you want in the store. So much missed revenue, especially if they add limited edition skins.

(RyePanda) #37

Vassili? Free? Nope. Everything else, if it made fiscal sense for nexon and SD, I would not be opposed to.

(AnimeDude) #38

But I don’t want to play competitive

Of course I don’t. You die sometimes, that’s the game. After a while, going up against the same proxies throughout a match, you can predict where they’re going to place it. It’s especially easy when they place it out in the open as well, it’s like free XP. @laudatoryLunch

I have no problem if the sound and even the red ring gets removed, if the min would get a fixed smaller range. And not a giant 1-2m circle around it.
@gg2ez That’s why every game ever every generator or every C4-plantside is spammed with mines on every map, and Proxies are making kills with them. I tried it yesterday. Playing a stopwatch game with mines and planting/defusing/repairing only. I was the best in the room. Just spammed mines on the objectives and people ALWAYS fell for it. It’s cheap. Mines should explode if you run over them, not if you ran past them in 2 meters. Also not stickies or nades are dealing over 200 dmg on someone. Mines do.
