Would you be willing to pay a 10 dollar charge to help the anti cheat?

(elegantRoyalty) #1

One big problem this game faces with getting cheats out of the game is it probably takes longer to fill out a report and certainly takes longer to investigate than it does for the cheat to simply make a new account.
out of pure curiosity i was wondering how the idea of being able (but not having to) pay 10 bucks (or whatever, maybe even just provide valid CC details so that card becomes blacklisted and the account banned if they are caught cheating) to be allowed to play on servers that only people that also paid (or provided whatever guarantee works cc details or anything better) could play on
so anyone cheats there actually risking something other than the minute it takes to make a new account.

EDIT_ to be clear the 10 bucks isnt to pay for an anti cheat or help them hire more people its purely to make it more costly to cheat, so that instead of just having to make a new account they also have to pay each time or find a new credit card to link to thier account.

(Yes) #2

They are already making it, why would I pay for something that’s gonna come regardless?

(Fap Fap Master) #3

If you were to ask me in the past, I would have agreed, but seeing the general direction of this game, its a no from me.

Melee system = broken

(Ghosthree3) #4

If you think some extra money could help them get an anti-cheat out any quicker you’re wrong. They’re already working on it and are putting as many resources towards it as they feel they can.

And no ‘hiring more people to work on anti-cheat’ isn’t a valid way because first they have to find the people they want to hire, then they do the job and get their contract cut.

(affableTricycle) #5

This game has Nexon behind it. They have all the money they need.

ok i clearly didnt make it clear enough , its not 10 bucks to help the devs its an ante, a cost to having an account , so if a cheat gets caught and banned it takes more than a minute to make a new account and be back on the servers. if they had to pay each time they get caught or perhaps better find a new credit card to link to thier accounts it might make it harder/less palatable to just keep making new accounts.

Oh, that may have been in the OP I and I may have missed it. I thought you meant like a donation.

In that case sure, I’ve always been supportive of buying games out right and saying fuck you to cash shops, in a way this would be that.

(srswizard) #8

Yes, I’m all for having traditional price tags on multiplayer shooters, even if it’s just 5-10$.
Sure it won’t magically make the game hacker free, but it definitely has a positive impact on the number of cheaters.

I would had gladly paid 5-20€ for DB, if it came with such a price tag.
Of course this doesn’t matter now, because it’s too late.

(immenseWalnut) #9

Ah, my bad, voted before I realised what you meant.

I mentioned this the other day, I would have much preferred a price tag on the game, with all mercs unlocked as standard than the current system. £20-£25 seems about right for Dirty Bomb I would say.

This type of F2P is all about getting access to as many people as possible and then trying to milk them for as much money as possible (people like Sniff for example) before the game dies.

(chicHouse) #10

what is this? some kind of joke?

or should we collect money now for pepsi to make more sugar drinks? lets donate?

(Snark) #11

If I wanted to take competitive matchmaking seriously, I’d be for matchmaking limited to minimum $X paying people.

(avidCow) #12

lol, no

So in shortcut:Buy 2 Play.

Why didn’t you said it on end??

(linenSorcerer) #14

It’s too late. They’ve lost all faith for me unfortunately.

(opicr0n) #15

Today I feel like the final blow has been dealt to this game. Too many mistakes regarding AC.

Let me help you pull your head out of the sand.

(_retired_) #16

Not really since I put already some cold hard cash into it by buying mercs/loadouts.

(Dirmagnos) #17

Again, with this.
Such polls, in any f2p games are always failing by default, since their idea goes against whole economical principle of the game.
Blacklisting CC for cheating is absurd, im pretty sure it would be illegal as well. And making certain features, like competitive, available only to paying players is absurd square - we dont have enough players for good competitive MM, lets exclude 80% of players from it and it should be much better. Yeah, sure, there would be much less cheaters… mainly because there will be nobody there.
And simply throwing money on the game, in hopes that it would stop cheaters also wont work. CS or BF are a good examples of that. It will only lead to more complex cheating schemes.
And those who can afford to repurchase game, will also be able to afford VIP hacks that are far harder to detect.

Yeh Free to play is nice and all but it comes at a price of a constant supply of hackers as they have nothing to lose and might as well try there hacks in this game before getting banned and just get another. It was the same in Loadout too.

You see it in APB Reloaded, but not as much, as you lose a lot when you get banned because lvl/rank means a lot more ( you need certain ranks to unlock things ). Lvl in this game is just like COD. For bragging rights only.

I also think they should stop this “no shaming” policy and have a report section on the forums so people can post Video evidence of hackers and they can be sorted a lot faster.
