Would like a place to test out Mercs/Guns/Abilities

Previously, I used console commands to create an empty server/room to test mercs, but now using those commands crash my game (Not sure if that’s a bug…).

I was looking for something like the tutorial or the assault course where you can play around and get a good feel for the gameplay mechanics.

A great example of this idea is Splatoon 2 where you can go to the weapon shop and test various weapons and equipment (another great example is Overwatch’s training area).

If anyone gets the idea to make this “training room”, I would like to see these features:
-> Enemy dummies with different health pools (from 80hp to 200 hp) to mimic the different mercs found in the game
-> Friendly dummies to test healing abilities
-> Shooting range with different target distances to test weapons/abilities.
-> Replica EV and generators to test weapons and ability damages.
-> Include option to make ability cooldown instantaneous so you can repeatedly test abilities (necessary for air support mercs like Skyhammer)

What does everybody else think? Are there improvements to be made? Is this already being considered by Splash Damage?

Things like this are always a good idea. I like to spend time in “lab” and test stuff myself a lot so i’d be all up for it.

Yep, I agree B)

A proper map practice mode would be welcome too

I’m too lazy to teleport to blocked areas with console commands (e.g. the GH building on Bridge)

On the side note: does anybody know the map id of Dome Redux?

  • bots “protecting” moving EV
  • bot doing strafing to practice aim
  • obstacles to practice wall jumping / long jumping + maybe downed bots to practice jumping + reviving
  • some options to be able to turn on / off waves of bots for different purposes or to spawn some specific scenarios

I would love something like that. And i think it cannot be that much work to do something like that. It does not have to be completed at once. You can build it little by little.

This should be the necessity, to draw player in.

you can practice trickjumps unofficially if you type this in the console:
“switchlevel obj_[…]” the map name goes into the bracket
Important notes:

  1. Chapel is called Whitechapel, Underground is Canarywharf, Terminal is Victoria and Vault is Heist. I don’t know how Dome Redux is referred to
  2. You can’t go into areas locked during the first objective

@hurgya

Thanks for hint.

My biggest wish is to have something where i could work on improving my crappy aim. Since i cannot do it much in game because when i start to feel useless (which is almost everytime i focus on practicing my aim) i get frustrated pretty fast and leave (thats why i play medic 90% of time).
