Would a 5vs5vs5 map be possible?

Sadly, with the current back story (CDA and Jackal) it doesn’t work but I would love to have this idea! An objective based map style (what this game is all about) is still possible though. Think of it as CDA, Jackal and Civilian. After the DB disaster a group of rich civilians were able to hold down as ____ as a safe ground. They have the money to hire mercs to defend their ‘fortress’. However, this is also a location that the CDA has to do ____ (deliver, escort, etc.) So in stopwatch there would be 3 rounds with each team playing each position. The objectives could be run through something like this:
Scene: CDA needs to come in to fortress (ex, reinforced landmarkish London area like other maps) and get the codes for something important and deliver them to a mobile transport outside then move transport to safe zone.
For Civilian:

  1. Use high ground of fortress to keep both jackal on one side and CDA on other out of breaking in to fortress.
  2. Until negotiated to join side battle both to prevent them from accomplishing their missions. (it will be more heavy CDA as you will see).
  3. Once CDA has package out of fortress fight with Jackal through heavily defendable EV passage to prevent EV movement.
    For CDA:
  4. Fight off Civilian until c4 planted on East wall and broken through.
  5. Get package while fighting off both 2 (if Jackal has broken their wall)
    Important secondary A separate room closer to east wall than west has the civilian council. Hold down this point for ____ seconds and convince civilian to work with them for the ‘good’ cause.
    Then after EV starts, civilians notice they have been betrayed and join Jackal
  6. Bring EV to safe zone through defendable passageway
    For Jackal:
  7. Fight off civilian until c4 planted on west wall and broken through.
  8. Prevent package pick up. (map set up so this area is easier for them to get to than others (spawns) but council harder. If they do get to council they can still hold it off for civilian’s unwielding aid. If this happens the ‘betrayed part’ is void.
  9. Fight with civilian to stop EV.
    Here, all 2 team vs 1 teams are in changing motion and are not one sided as they are highly defendable for the 1 or a team is in flux between the other 2.

Only in capture the flag, 4-way CTF can be pretty fun.

I like the idea of more teams. I agree with @N8o Pot8o though would be chaos. Fun though.
Maybe if they had a test weekend and we could see how it goes. I can just imagine it being one of those games where you just run around firing as many explosives as possible.
Actually… only fire support + explosive mercs allowed.

Maybe a domination style gamemode would suit this? Having 5-7 capture points on a map for teams to fight over would be interesting to see

What ? no there can be plenty objectives based mode created around but the game would be way longer and the map way larger.

For Exemple we could have a mode with a circular principal road. Three EV on that road belong to each team. And the First team to make their EV touch the one in front of them for a certain amount of second wins. you can put a time limit on the mod so that when the timeer end the team who is the nearest of their targeted EV wins. Or the team who actually touched once their targeted EV even if they didnt managed to stick to it. Of course modification would need to be applied to the EVs (maybe implement new vehicle instead) they would need to be easier to destroy and repair to make the game more dynamics.

You put some other way on side of this circular road. Flanking path underground path higher point and path under which the vehicule will pass like on bridge. Three ammo crate placed at equal distance to each others.

Now every team has two objectives slowing the Ev in front of them and the one behind them, but not slowing the one behind them too much or they will make the third team win. And on top of that keeping their EV moving.

On pub it could be a mess but i believe it would be a great mode on competitive settings.

Of course some merc would be less chosen like Aura because of the constant movement but its like that for every game.

EV race, where all 3 teams are trying to simultaneously a) repair theirs and get it to goal and b) destroy and hinder enemy teams to succeed in their racing?

Oh boy would I play the crap out of that, TF2 Payload races were chaos and entertainment incarnated already :'D

@bontsa youre idea is nice but it wouldnt be possible with 3 teams + aura station would be more usless then other abilties since the team would keep moving

Since question in OP here was mostly if 5v5v5 (3 teams against each other) possible, that was only vague possibility I came up with that wasn’t mentioned already. Not really going to ever to happen with most highest probability, so not really relevant discussion which I did (stupidly) take part for mere sake of conversation.

For sake of arguing though Aura station would be just as “useless” in EV race as in EV escort :tongue: Depends mostly who uses it and how wisely, still has usages quite a lot actually (wont beat a proper mobile/combat oriented medic though)
