worldspawn and hi sock.

(opus) #1

sock i didn’t know you were with SplashDamage.

Anyways: I’m not sure if they mapcoordsmin and max are 100% necessary to compile, but I can’t get the worldspawn window.

When I press n with no brushes or entities selected, it comes up with complete blankness up top, instead of a list of entities…

any ideas why?

(jah) #2

try pressing L then select ‘worldspawn’ and then press N for the entity window :moo:

(opus) #3

Also, try as I might I cannot get my map to compile.

All I have in there is a few models, some patch meshes… and a info_player_deathmatch, blue and red start points…

It always ends with: GTK radiant 1.3.11 has encountered a problem and needs to close… No further details, but it makes me quit the program.

this is my worldspawn stuff. At first I thought my max and mins were wrong, and I fixed em but… the problem persists. :banghead:

Anything special i may need that I forgot?! Any Ideas?

(freekill) #4

take the commas out
u also need
teamredspawn
bluespawn
playerintermission
wolfobjective

(mort-malice) #5

Just a note, you do not need a player intermission to make a working map.

(sock) #6

Check out this thread first it has a good link to a tutorial by Hummer for first time map creation.

Erm u dont need most of that - to get a map working in ET you just need mapcoordsmins + maxs - so take out commas and have the coord values seperated by a space

U dont need any of the spawn, intermission or obj stuff

(opus) #8

Sock, I’ve already checked out that thread. My first problem was that that bounding box wasn’t a square… which I’m lead to believe it has to be. I’ll remove the commas, but that thread tells you to put commas, sooo…

Anyway: here’s some screenshots of my plan:

it’s an underground level.

Basically, it’s a sequel to goldrush. The allies had to hide the gold in order to wait for an airlift to arrive. They chose this abandoned mine 27 miles SouthEast of Tobruk. The axis have tracked them, and their main objective is to retrieve three crates of gold, from several spots on the map.

any ideas?

comments?

suggestions?

I’ll post more explanation of the gameplay flow later.

(opus) #9

believe it or not, that still didn’t work. but I’m using GTK radiant (<3)

and, as it turns out, the compile wasn’t even starting, I checked the junk.txt as well, but the problem was that I had bsp process monitoring turned off. When i turned it on, the compile went fine.

(Danyboy) #10

Have fun with your command map then - to my knowledge you cant have multiple height CCs - so you will have to stick with 1 - im guessing the surface level.

(opus) #11

well, since air raids, mortars, and artillery will be virtually useless in this map, I guess maybe… it doesn’t matter.

I could just go without a command map…

BTW, how does one go about constructing the map, I’ve never edited ET before, only JO & EF.

(Thej) #12

Uhm, you van have multiple command maps, cause i have them to

but for some reason not all the objectives show up in the command maps.

check this thread for multiple command maps.
