WORLD TRADE CENTER- A tribute [NEW MAP]

Hello everyone,
I embarked on a project a couple of years ago to recreate the World Trade Center complex pre-9/11 in ET. Now that 10 years have passed since its destruction I decided as a personal tribute to release it as a map, to enable others to experience a reasonable facsimile of the area as it once was, with a few modifications to enhance the playability.

The map is called WTC_Heist and is a standard CTF type map with Axis on offense.
The Allied Gold is located on the top of Tower 2. Each tower has 2 elevators running from street level to the 107th floor, where forward spawns are located. The rooftops are accessible. Travel between towers is possible via the rooftop exhaust fans. A taxicab and NYPD car patrol the streets below. The West St. entrance to the Marriott Hotel houses a neutral command post.

You did really good work … sure spend many days on making it.
I’m still surprised what people can invent for W:ET :slight_smile:
60.000 verts can be too much for some old machines, but final effect is something i never saw in W:ET :eek:

Love the cooling fans on top of the towers. Definately check those out. I didnt think you could trump Sandstorm, but it looks that you did. Kudos. And kudos for making it to scale. Keep 'em coming.

Now lets see which of the servers out there has the balls to run this map…

Great map!

Remove the elevators and top stairs and use teleports instead.

Make it impossible to jump off the towers.

screw that! DEFINITELY jump off the towers…you can land in the fountain pool and survive. also, try landing on the tip of fountain statue and see what happens.

teleports are an interesting idea but i’m sure the routes were timed as is.

That’s the problem. You can jump off the tower and land right on the capture point. BOOOOM, map over!

How many people jumped from one fan to the other and then tried to go back?

107 floors is a long way to freefall with a crate of gold - I tried flapping my arms but it didn’t help.:smiley:
