Oblivion, Wow, UT3, fallout series, <insert a giant list of video games here> and so can do it, yes.
Women Characters?
Again, UT3 is great but it doesn’t nearly aproach the number of options you can do in brink. And okay, Oblivion and WoW are indeed better then again, those games are all about acquiring gear.
First off, I think he was referring to FPS gamers, and second, Brink is up there with all those games you listed. Yes, WoW, Oblivion and Fallout give you good control over actual physical attributes, (hair, skin tone, face structure, etc) but they give absolutely no customization in terms of clothing and other aesthetics. Yeah, you can find armor or earn armor, but that is a part of the game itself and not the character customization process. You might find kickass looking armor in those games, but you don’t wear it because the ugly armor you have on has better stats, or the new armor you found is rogue armor and you’re a warrior.
Brink offers customization of physical traits as well as clothing with no restrictions.
And Brink’s customization (from what I’ve seen so far) shits on UT3.

Now tell me what does BRINK offers ? :stroggtapir: And a single difference (like underpants colors) doesn’t really makes BRINK that “super cool and unique system”, it’s clearly the same thing used here but with more ingame asset, where UT3 comes with SDK and not pure restriction of idtech4. (which means that users won’t be able to create customs things and share it with others on base configuration).
Also, Oblivion’s engine is far more advanced than BRINK, especially in the face customization system, sadly Bethesda doesn’t seems to share it’s technology.

If you take tokomat question, it’s not about online FPS at all. Also, you can craft any armor in WoW (guess why it’s called “World of Warcraft”, because it’s all about creating your own stuff, and share it), same for Oblivion. And i’m not even talking about game SDK (still for Oblivion) which can do whatever you want too

Doesn’t ?
Don’t tell me that BRINK is way more different than what the game industry already seen, it might be slightly different but not unique and way more advanced than anything we have seen before.

Again, for the third time, the models in UT3 are excellent, but there’s only a few ‘characters’ who all have very little you can change about them. There are about three helmets or so you can pick for that guy. And those shoulderpads aren’t actually 6 different shoulder pads because you can chose for single pads left/right. There are only two different actual shoulderpad models.
Brink offers a far more diverse range of options form what I’ve seen so far.

Whether you craft it or find it in dungeons doesn’t really matter. But here you’re confusing customization with the entire goal of the game. In WoW finding new gear is essential for the game, you’re definitely picking gear on what looks best.
I’m not even sure where this discussion is going anymore.
Fallout 3, but the texture art was often incongruent and not 1:1, while the animations were all done by hand, and sketchy.
There were females in the game, but all of their movements looked unnatural.

As I said (like 1 post ago, but I assume you didn’t read it), the number of asset might be more important in BRINK than UT3 (even if it’s have to be proven) but UT3 allows you to create any model/asset you want and play it with anybody.
UT3 comes with more variety through the different races, you don’t have humans only, so try mixing up all customizable parts + all the different races (who aren’t sharing the same part) then you’ll see that it’s really close to BRINK customization system, until now.

Women Characters? Yes or no ? And why ? Especially since old and very old games have it. The counter argument was the customization system, you got proven that some games have a great customization system (and some are even better than BRINK on some part) and still have female characters.
You are also trolling and saying that BRINK have “one of the best customization system” like if it’s something unique, and you got proven wrong too, with many counter example.

You’re missing the point though. Brink = can purchase clothing, accessories, etc. as long as you can afford it. They are used to express the type of character you want to make. You’re not wearing certain things because they give you stats (like WoW, Oblivion, Fallout) you’re wearing that cool shirt because it looks cool - you’re not stuck wearing the ugly leotards because they give you +5 strength.
Also, there’s no crafting or professions in Brink. I don’t need to be a leather worker or a blacksmith or a tailor, I don’t need to scavenge ingredients or be a certain lvl in my profession before I can make certain things - these are all part of the game itself, NOT character customization.
Don’t tell me that BRINK is way more different than what the game industry already seen, it might be slightly different but not unique and way more advanced than anything we have seen before.
I’m not saying it’s different or it’s going to revolutionize anything, I’m just saying it’s a lot better than what UT3 offers in terms of character customization.
In WoW finding new gear is essential for the game, you’re definitely picking gear on what looks best.
No, you’re picking gear on what gives you the best stats, regardless of what it looks like. This actualy limits the amount of customization you can have. There’s a reason you see players in town wearing the same epic armor - because you’d be stupid not to.
[QUOTE=AnthonyDa;221889]FFS learn to read whole post instead of quoting 2 rows and reply like shit plz.

And still you’re only able to pick the what, 12, models the developer gives you on which you can change minor detaills. In no way can you ‘create’ anything original.
Aye, the only real customisation is picking whether or not you display the helmet or not.
Guys, as always, please keep it civil.
As there isn’t anything new to share in regards to female models in Brink and this thread has now degraded into The War of Customisation Systems, I’d say it’s time for a lock.
