Will we see some buffs to deployable mercs to compensate for this?
Besides the general nerf to most deployable based mercs like Aura and Turtle, we’ve also had a lot of indirect nerfs lately. More explosive spam, and now more of a focus on EMP mercs. Since mercs like Aura especially are extremely vulnerable without their deployables, adding more to counter them is basically a major nerf to them. And since counter-counters like Guardian still aren’t effective at properly protecting these deployables, it seems like this is all a bit much.
Turtle’s shield is already easy enough to blow up without someone shooting an EMP at it from across the map, and Aura has been nerfed so many times most people seem to be avoiding her at higher levels now. It’s hard enough trying to play deployable based mercs while having to deal with Phantoms and constant explosive spam, but it’s just getting even worse.
SD doesn’t even seem to have a proper way for these mercs to counter this either. In Hunter’s role call video, their strategy for “fighting back” is to spread deployables out. Wow, big help.
Bush and Turtle are already pretty lackluster mercs that aren’t often picked. Aura is being gradually nerfed to hell with every chance SD gets too. Maybe I’m biased, I do play a lot of Aura after all, but that’s why I’m posting this here. I’d love to hear your thoughts and what other people think about this.
Do deployables need some love too? Are they fine as they are, or should they be nerfed even more?
