The same thing happened to me before…oh how I loathed M$ for weeks after the occurrence. “irrecoverable-registry-crash”…a M$ beta program I was trying out, decided to chew vital components of information…

Thanks M$…ur the best at making system melt downs !!!

On another note: my friend was testing the M$ antivirus a few months ago and his master HD lost all of it’s vital components as well.
I went through 3 hours of hand-inputting dos commands to replace key registry components until I said ‘F’ M$…and the horse they rode in on. :angry:

Needless to say…I am still using windows…so I am a hyppocrite in that facit, but holy crap they make some horrid stuff.

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE

while going trough my backups disk and cd’s, I found an old version of the map (couple of weeks work needs to be done to get to the same build that I lost)

So I’m back on track, and hopefully the gods favor me this time :stuck_out_tongue:

as you can see this is a cliff-ledge, now I don’t want people going in the water surrounding the map so I’m gonna clip the ledge anyway… but the issue where I need help at is the how should I clip it ?

  1. Just leave the edge as it is and put up an invisible barrier (u can still trow nades/ shoot trough it)
  2. Put up some sort of fence
  3. Insert your idea here

IMO a bad idea. A player should see why he’s blocked.

IMO that’s the best solution. I’d make a transparent fence so players can see the water. Maybe some wood or metal poles with alpha/mesh_c02 between them.

Deffinatly use a fence, it would be wierd running round then all of a sudden just stopping for no apparent reason. Option 2 for me :smiley:

have you thought of making a ladder… and that the players wont swim tooo fa use the invisible barrier

or make some black hole that sucks them in and places them back on the edge :stuck_out_tongue:
or even they get so scared while falling they get a hat attack (thats the trigger thing basicly)

arent they great ideas

Make a trigger and when they go into the water, maybe a shark or something can kill them :drink:

Or a fence would work.

Update:

I’ve made some major decisions and they are the following.

I’m going to make a 2 map pack instead of releasing just one map.

The first map will contain an outdoor harbor part and a small indoor base. This map will be called et_RECON.
Allies have to grab documents (intel on the location of the underwater base) and escape.

The second map will be an all indoor map, and this will be the Underwater facility I’ve been showing already. This map will be called et_Unterwasser.
Axis have to defend the bio-weapon they are creating in the base.

I’ve chosen to do this because in the very beginning I wanted to make the underwater base an all indoor map, but after a while I’ve started adding outdoor parts and the whole creepy underwater feeling was gone.
And because I don’t want all that outdoor work to be for nothing I will make this a 2map campaign

Bad idea imo. The last 2map pack was fliegerhorst and some other map, and it SUCKED having to dl 30 megs of pk3 from a server for just 1 of those maps. There is a pain limit to download filesize.
As for admins… if I want only 1 of those maps on my server, why on earth would i want a big mappack?

Yeah u might have a point there :P, but seeing as my ideas change by the minute the 2 map pack could easily be changed to 2 seperate maps with a link in the storyline

Then leave the campaign out… A lot of maps do it, it’s really a pain.
